Optic Kit Coming

Nice.

I was trying to hold out for an Optic kit but I went and committed to building a Harley Jimmy's buggy instead.

The Traxxas Mini Maxx was the other really interesting thing that has come from that show.

Nice, have you started the build? I am very tempted to build one of his Chassis. The process seems to be impressively clear and concise.
Has he released a second design? I thought I saw something about it but haven't come acrossnitnin awhile

I have been printing up the jigs and using this as an excuse to buy some tools that I've wanted for a while.

Got my tig welder and vertical bandsaw setup last weekend and hope to get started cutting some tubing this weekend.

Nice. It's a cool project.

I’ll never be a fabricator. I hate it. And I’ve hated it since my first attempt as a 10-ish year old kid when a dog bit my Hornet and tore the front of the body off. My dad gave me sheet metal and tin snips and said make a hood out of metal. It happened, but it wasn’t fun for me. So Josh’s buggy project isn’t for me, but it is an awesome idea and appears to be very well thought out.

The H10 kit is more my speed.

I've been holding off temptation to buy the Optic RTR just in case there was a kit coming in the future. Great to hear that it may be happening. I was hoping with the upcoming holidays coming that VP would surprise us.

The Optic is super fun. Definitely my favorite rig these days.
Not too many Dad's were overly engaged back in the day. Outside of sports my old man couldn't have cared much less about my interests.
Sharp metal is a memorable lesson. Broken glass is up there too.

I hope it happens. I haven't heard anything else mentioned about it. I think perhaps Greg either accidentally leaked some privileged info or he is telling stories...haha

It looks like a fun rig and there are so many cool option parts for it already.

Oh my dad was great…when he was there. That wasn’t too often. My mom got pregnant with me at 19 and my parents got married, because that’s what you did back then. At 19, my dad was still a kid and ended up having about two more decades of sowing his oats to do. They got divorced not long after that hood fab story and I went years without seeing him much at all. We’re much closer now. He realizes his mistakes, including losing my mom, so he became one of my best friends for years. We went RCing or riding motorcycles together quite often for years. My younger sister never forgave him and pretty much only sees him because she wants her son/my nephew to have a grandfather.

SBG does a slight comb over of the Vanquish table at the 6:54 mark, but I don't necessarily see a H10 kit in SBG's or RCDriver's video. Am I missing something or are we thinking the purple, black and sea foam green colored H10 is the kit?

Did you listen to what he said?

I'm on the fence for an Optic kit, now that I have a set of those axles. We'll see for up and coming projects. Price point may change all of that or holiday deals.

RCDriver? @12:25 or roughly around that never says anything about a h10 kit...
Interesting, i just went back and watched again. He obvuously went back and edited the video. There is a rough cut after he shows the Falken Phoenix. Originally he took video of the Optic and spoke about the coming kit and how each kit would contain a random colored set of body panels. Said the purchaser would not know the color of included panels until opening the box. He cut that entire section out.
There wasn't an actual kit sitting on the table, just the buggy itself. I assumed he knew what he was sharing from a conversation.
As I said earlier. I think either the VP guys were bullshitting him or he leaked privileged information. Either way he still went back and cut away the entire piece about the Optic.

Him having removed the content with no explanation leads me to think it wasn't a joke. He apparently revealed something that wasn't to be revealed yet.

Otherwise he likely would provide some explanation for the removal as opposed to silently removing the content as if nobody saw it.

I'm going to hope for an Optic kit.

I too think it was legit info. Is there something saying you'r not allowed to share release info from this show or is it just Vanquish telling/asking him to not share? If everything here is supposed to be some kind of secret then you'd think there shouldn't be any filming allowed. I think Vanquish is trying to sell and make there money off the RTRs or maybe there aren't 100% sure if they will release the kit version yet.
As frustrating as all this is I'm still getting a kit even tho I have an RTR.

I really like the optic myself but I wanted portals.. just because of the terrain here. I tell you what.. the portal optic I built was a killer this weekend and was worth all the headache of figuring out the links and what not. Really glad I put the Carbon transmission in with 21% od as well. A kit would be rad though

Did you do a build thread on this rig?
