original pinion

14T pinion is not stock...
at least not included for an RTR

Mine came 87/20 with a 27T motor.

---------------

might help to know which specific scx-10 model...

'cause I believe the Deadbolt is 32 pitch - 56T spur / 13T pinion

Different batch different T's pinion that comes with it, RTR and KIT also have different pinion included.

My deadbolt RTR came with 13T

G6 is also 32p 56/12
Weird... 'cuz I just looked on Axial's G6 "kit" manual *pd

and it clearly lists AX30578 (20T/48P) as the pinion included. *

Sure seems to be a lot of inconsistencies here
that don't jive with the Axial manuals ??

Folks posting up should list which SCX-10 they have...
and as to whether it was a kit or an RTR !?

* ^ SCREAMER ! ? your G6 came with 32P... purchased new ?

87/20 on my RTR honcho (silver body)
I believe the SCX Deadbolt was the first with the 32p gears. The CF100 I had (OG) had 87/14.

Regardless, pick up an 87 spur and a both 14 and 20t pinions.... Problem solved lol

Maybe there's a difference from kit to RTR for the G6 trans? I can confirm that both of my RTR G6 transmissions were 32p. I did have the pinion size mixed up with my Wraith Spawn trans which was 56/12. The G6 RTR trans were in fact both 56/13. Sorry for the confusion. I wondered where these 2 13 tooth pinions I had came from. If you look on RPP they sell take off transmissions from G6s that are also 32p 56/13. That was one of the selling points for me over the honcho. HD driveshafts and 32p dual slipper trans. The honcho has neither. The 32p trans also comes with outputs that have pin screws instead of grub screws to hold the shafts on. Much stronger more reliable design.

According to Axial the RtR G6 is 32 pitch with the new dual pad slipper, the G6 kit is 48 pitch with the old slipper. These specs are subject to change as I believe they're eventually going to include the 32 pitch gears and dual pad slipper into most of their kits and RtR's.

...going on two years worth of 3s use/abuse.

I have yet to spin my original 48 pitch plastic spur gear.
The finer tooth mesh does require a more critical meshing...
but I don't seem to have issue with it.

tho' I did strip 3ea 48 pitch idler gears...
before finally breaking down with purchasing steel internals.

32 pitch is too noisy for my like.

tho' maybe I'd need 32p if I were running 6s !?
