OK so normally i would just paint the inside of a lexan body with polycarbonate paint, and i do plan to paint the inside with a non metalic polycarbinate silver to emulate metal when the outside paint scratches off, but im not sure on how to go about painting the outside of the lexan. The thing is i would paint it from the inside but im using a mix of lexan and hardbody panels so i want the paint to match, i dont think i can paint a hardbody like glass! I plan to sctoch-brite and primer the hardbody peices but im not sure about primering the lexan, i want the paint to stick though, i plan to scotch-brite the outside of the lexan but should i primer it too? and what kind of paint do you suggest? Ive read on here people have had good results with paint made for plastic, like a krylon fusion or something. but i also dont want it to just chip away, and i need to be able to use it for the hardbody panels as well, i know thats asking for alot.

Thanks EGG

I just painted mine with the Krylon fusion. Scotch-brited it first, that's it. Unfortunately, I've only run it once since, but I did roll it a LOT and it held up great, if this helps any...

I use Pactra Racing lexan paint on the outside of the lexan. Just scuff a bit and shoot. It has a semi-gloss look to it, if you want really shiny you should use something else.

This paint on Pepe has been on there for 3 years.

This is one I just painted.

I wouldn't recommend krylon anything on large lexan surfaces that will flex, in the past it ended up flaking off on me outside and inside the body. I will x2 the polycarbonate paints though for outside and in. Not sure if it adheres better to lexan or has a rubbery consistency to the finish that doesn't allow it to break off.

Ever since sc bashing, all I do is outside body paint now. Reason being the inside got a nice coat of shoegoo and it would actually tear off polycarbonate paint so its a habit now with scaler bodies. The natural scrape off is a nice effect too "thumbsup"
