I have had a paypal account for a few years now and have never had any issues on my account it is all verified and everything. Well my current debit card that was issued for my account was lost so i to go in and cancel it so i can request a new card ( what they told me to do). Well paypal sends me a email saying that my application for a new debit card (Not credit card) has been denied WTF?:x I just had one have used it 100's of times and i loose it and now they wont approve me for another? Makes no sense to me!!! sometimes i really hate paypal

Probably put a hold on your account to see if anyone makes any charges?

Why they wouldnt give you a new one when they already know you've had one with them is beyond me.

That sucks. The high fees piss me off, that place has to make obscene amounts of money with very little overhead. I sell something on ebay for less than what I think its worth, pay ebay listing fees, under estimate shipping, then get fukked by paypal. May as well give my stuff away:x

I feel you pain

paypal has high fee's :?: ....what are they :?: ....i've never had any paypal fee's other then selling something on flea/bay when the winning bidder pays with a credit card....then paypal charges me under a buck the two times that happened....flea/bay fee's are under a buck to list stuff, unless it's thousands of dollars....shipping fee's i list when i sell stuff in my auctions are for shipping to california, then i add 3.00 bucks to that....kinda like Shipping & Handling fee "thumbsup" ....unless your really selling and shipping low balled you can't lose............bob

....

OK Bob, let me explain,

Lets say you have an item that is worth 100.00. You mark it down to 85.00 so that is it an appealing price to a potential buyer. Ebay charges $2.19 + 3.50% to list the item in a standard auction. So your at $2.19 + $2.97=5.17 total to list the item. Then the buyer uses paypal credit card option to pay that another 4.9% or $4.16. So you lost $15.00 off the top so the item will sell then $5.17 for ebay fees and amother $4.16 in paypal fees. Then just for chits and giggles say you under estimated you shipping cost by $5.00. You just sold your $100.00 item for $70.67.

Guess you can lose"thumbsup"

Thats why I try to sell to my RCC brothers first and use ebay as a last resort.

well duh, yeah that way....unless flea/bay jacked prices up since i last sold something....but dang if it's worth 100 bucks to you it might not be worth 100 bucks to someone else, especially on an auction site your not gonna get 100 bucks for it from what i've seen....i always get the right postage from the post office before i list stuff and add to it....that way i can take a little loss on the selling price i have no control over, since it's an auction....but then again i never tried selling stuff over 20.00 bucks either so i don't get burned ;-) ....if you want 100 bucks for something don't sell it at auction i always say "thumbsup" .............bob

I absolutely hate paypal!

I think since ebay purchased them they have, or will have soon, a rule on ebay that you can only buy and sell using paypal. Which means no more money orders. They say its to protect the buyer and seller, but we all know its just another step towards being an evil monopoly and putting more money in there pockets.

I used paypal for something like 8 years. I had 1800 positive feedback on ebay from both buying and selling. Then one day paypal puts a hold on my account, said they needed my social security number and other personal info to run a credit check on me. This was just out of the blue, there were no claims against me, infact i never had many issues at all they had to get involved in. I asked why they needed to run a credit check... why my personal life, my house, my bills, my cars, my wages, every personal piece of information in my life was any of there business. They said they occationally do this to random members. I told them to go screw themselves, my credit had nothing to do with using there service. They said they were going to freeze what money i had in my account until i gave in, so i threatened with a lawyer and pretty much got laughed at. Then i had a lawyer contact them, they released my funds, but banned me forever. I miss out on a lot of deals because i dont have paypal anymore, but so be it, they didnt have the right to do that.

Theres a website called paypalsucks.com, i think. Its pretty good. Lots of horror stories on how paypal has screwed so many people.

eBay has changed the way it does the fees now and it's much more than what it used to be.

First there is the insertion fee, usually called the listing fee which can be as low as $.15 for an auction starting below a dollar. If you add more than 1 photo you pay more, reserve price you pay more, starting price you pay more, etc., etc.

Then you have the final value fee, which for RC stuff is 12% for the first $50 and 8% after that. This can get to be HUGE!!!!

Then you have the paypal fees which is usually 3% but can be more if there is an exchange rate needed or if the buyer pays with a credit card and you aren't verified.

All that and you still have to ship the thing!!!
