in a quest in learning how to use photoshop for more than just croping and resizing pics, i am looking into getting myself a pen mouse and tablet

can anyone recomend a set up for me ?
im looking to drop up to $100 on a good set up (willing to go a little over if its worth it), ive found some for under 60 but was wondering if they were just throw aways

any advice or lnks would help

Sorry ok so the small one is within 100, mediums about 199. If your taking any classes though for photoshop or graphic design it would be really easy to get a good student discount.

You can do fine with a mouse...save that $ and buy Adobe CS4, learn both Photoshop and Illustrator, which to me are the 2 best graphics programs out.

My wife works in graphic design and Wacom is IT. best one to get. She swears by her tablet and will only use Wacom.

"thumbsup"

well im also going to be drawing things from scratch also and a mouse isnt really cutting it when i really need to make precise lines and detail work

ive also recently procured access to a vinyl cutting machine and would really like to make some custom masks and decals for a couple of bodies

That would be awsome. Ya like every one has said get wacom, The bamboo medium is good for a little more then your price range, but is worth it.

You will need Illustrator for the vinyl cutter. Vector imaging is the best. No distortion based on sizes from tiny to gigantic.

well the guy who owns the vinyl cutter is using vector imaging pro v.16, and he just gave me the disks to install onto my comp. looks like its protected but the security code appears to be fairly simple and shouldnt be a problem:twisted:

To be dead honest, save up a little more money and buy something larger then 4x6. Its good for the small stuff, but in the long run you will more then likely want something a little bigger....6x8 is nice and so is the 6x11.....You can get a bamboo 6x8 for a little under 200....Ive had my 12x19 for a few months now and love it....
