I called my local hobby shop today to ask about pinion gear options for the MRC and they asked about the pitch, would anyone here know the pitch needed and where would be the best place to purchase a 10T pinion gear? also would the pinion gears from other RC's work on this like one from a Scorpion, or is the motor shafts different.

32 pitch. RC18T pinions work. You can buy a 2 different assortments, one comes with 10, 11 and 12, the other comes with 13, 14 and 15 (if I remember right). Or you can buy them individually. Pretty much any 370 motor pinion works as long as it has a 2mm bore and 32 pitch.

Right. 48pitch, for a 2mm shaft. As suggested, you can buy pinions individually, or by the pack; there's also a 11t-14t set available (sans the 10t, obviously).

The associated rc18t pinions will work. They are not however 48 pitch they are .5 mm I think. 48 pitch pinions will work but they are not a perfect mesh so they WILL be noisy.

These pinions are .5 module (mod) . It's a metric pinion size. Supplies depends on what shaft size your motor is. Novak sells a kit of 3, robinson sells them, I believe tamiya sells some, check your motor shaft size 1st, there is an adaptor you can get from robinson to run larger holed pinions (2mm?) on 1/8th shaft (I was burned by this and missed my 1st 1.9 comp!)
