Normally I don't write reviews but I recently bought the PL Swamper xl's and though I share.
Got them mounted yesterday and have had two longer runs with them on my Wraith. My first impressions has been nothing but great.

a) Mounting

Got them mounted up on my VP kmc enduro wheels. I was abit worried they would be a pain to mount as I read that people were having troubles. Anyway 3 of them mounted really easy. I managed to miss-do one so it actually got loose from the wheel in a bind. However this as correct within a few minutes and I can only blame myself for this. I running them with C.I DD 6.0 foams.

b) Size and width
These are pretty big. (obviously) They are slightly bigger than my RB II's but also more narrow. The lugs are really big and further apart than the RB's.

c) Grip
Now this is the most interesting part. I remember when I first tested the RB II's I was kinda dissapointed. But as the foams got softer and the tire wore in they got much better. For the Swamper I directly felt - this is gonna be great... I have a few spots I test and compare tires on. And these had clearly better grip over these rocks. I also tested them in sand and on some ice and snow as it's still a bit left to spring here in Sweden. On snow they had surprisingly good grip. And on sand I also felt they would grip better. propbably this is due to the lugs being spaced further apart as compared to the RB's. When given some time to break in and as the foams softens I can only imagine they will be even better. I also tested them on a clay hill climb today and they seemed to hook ok. Clay had dried and was loose. My son running RB's had lots of trouble climbing the loose clay.

d) Looks
It simply look great! (subjective I know :)

Summary:

Overall a surpisingly good tire, who hopefully becomes even better. I also have ran Rovers, RipSaws r35 and Sedonas from time to time and I think they compare really well to the more comp oriented tires as well.

I've been running a set on my Sawback since they came out, and I love them. I'm still running the stock foams, so I know I'm not getting everything out of the tires, but they're still amazing.

OK so I got mine in today, and they look great, my question is the foams, do I just do my best working them in there and then push my wheel through? Or shoud I try to cut them done a bit. Thanks

Can't comment on the stock foams as I never used them. But they are very big and stiff. When I took them out they were badly dis-shaped. Leave them over the night to stretch out than think of a way to cut them maybe?

I trimmed the edges off of the foams, and it helped a little, but they're still a little stiff. I plan on ordering CI foams, but I do plan on modding the stock foams some before I do. Thinking of cutting a groove into the center of the foams, and trimming a little more off of the edges.

Whatta heck is that thing wearing a cap and yellow hair in the background almost at the engine? (last pic)

LOL. That's an Ed Roth authentic mask, on a fiberglass corvette go-cart body, with a real 454 in the front. It's our store mascot.
