Would someone post a list of readily available battery suppliers in approx order of quality please (appreciate this is contentious).

As a relative newbie (flying a year) I am looking for good 3 and 4s batteries. I started with e-flite batteries (because they matched the plane - a mistake as I have had two fail) now buying Mosworth (Ali-express) which seem good quality/value for money but no real idea. Thanks.

Hobbyking is definitely best bang for buck, at least for us in Europe. They have a humongous selection and a couple levels of quality/price.

The problem is you'll get fanbois chiming in with the first and only brand they ever bought & didn't puff with a 45-turn motor on 2S. A lipo that can handle high-amp stress usually handles everything else better - charge, storage, temps, etc.

The trick is to find out what works in high-amp models like 1/8 scale, flyers, or boats. A $15 no-name will work as good as a Gens Ace in a 1/18th scale for a dozen runs, but that's a very poor test. Most crawlers pull 30A or 60A max (brushed vs brushless) while avg boats will be 90A-150A continuous. That's a huge difference.

My take on this is e-flite batteries are junk, just to get the plane out the door. I had one go bad just sitting at storage charge from the box.

for flying, you should definitely get the highest C-rating you can afford to provide the best durability and highest resistance to puff. "thumbsup"
