It might be a little early to start planning for this event but I arranged a 3-day Oregon stop-over on my trip from Hawaii to San Diego so I need to get things in motion.

Does anyone have information that hasn't been posted yet? I know in years past it's been in the Bend/La Pine area. Is there any reason to think this might change? Maybe Parker could chime in here?

I'm also looking to possibly team up with some people to share things I may not be able to bring (or forget) from HI in exchange for rides and/or a place to stay. I'm scoping B&B's in the area since I obviously won't be able to bring my camping gear. I'll be driving down from Portland on Friday and back up on Sunday.

I'm already getting excited for this G6, it looks like it'll be a blast!

I sent Parker some info on places and let him know if there is any places he needs some more info on to let me know.... so far nothing.

Yup, I'm waiting for info as well. I'm a planner, gotta get this figured out. Waiting on intel.............

The trip is starting to take shape. My flights are booked and I'll be driving down to the event from Portland on Friday morning with stops to crawl along the way. Does anyone have have suggestions for places to hit? And if anyone wants to tag along or bum a ride let me know. I'll be heading back up to Portland Sunday afternoon.

Lots of awesome places to wheel along the way but to be honest I would just head right in and stop in terrebone on the way to crawl smith rock! There is also an epic spot up on Mt. Hood but probably covered in snow for another 4 or 5 months. Lots of good wheeling just about anywhere in Oregon but it won't be anything like Big I. I used to live in Kailua Kona and the beach wheeling on the ocean beat lava is awesome! Kaiolu aka the "hash" a hidden little surf spot off of Alii dr was were I used to wheel every week with my old ax10."thumbsup"

On Facebook they are saying the Oregon G6 is being held in Grants Pass at a man made course. I hope more info will follow and maybe some pictures of the area.

If you go to the FB page, there are pictures. It looks pretty neat. I guess there is 3+ miles of tail,, brushes, buildings, etc. Looks fun.

I live with in a half an hours drive to the Dry Creek RC Crawling Course (they have a Facebook page) they are always adding to the course some of it is man made other portions they try and utilize what is naturally there. They have just posted that there is a new section further up the mountain that no one has been on yet. I am curious to see the course that the G6 crew puts together. If you want some pictures go to my Facebook page (Justin Tynan) I have two albums "Squirrel fest" and "Dry creek show and shine" each has over 200 photos.

So Parker says on Facebook that "The G Train heads to Grants Pass" but this course is in Dexter. Are we to assume the April Fools pranks have started already?

I've booked a bnb nearby in Lowell. It has another bedroom so if anyone is interested PM me.

Crap. The Eventbrite registration has it wrong too :flipoff:

WHEN
Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (PDT) - Add to Calendar
WHERE
Dry Creek RC Course - Dexter Road, Dexter, OR 97431 - View Map

So...I'm making a new bnb reservation near Grants Pass. Plus planning two more hours of drive time. Carpool down from Portland is still on the table.

Head up. If you're planning to camp, space is limited apparently. You need to go to the FB page, and contact them to reserve a spot. It's first come first serve.

Here's my plan for heading down to Grants Pass on Friday (also posted on Farcebook)

6am Pickup rental car and leave PDX
7am Crawling at High Rocks City Park, Gladstone
9am Crawling at Cascades Gateway Park, Salem
12pm Shopping at Eugene Toy & Hobby, Eugene
1pm Crawling at Spencer Butte Trail #2, Eugene
4pm Crawling at Winchester Fish Ladder, Roseburg
5pm Shopping at Next Level RC Pro, Roseburg
7pm Crawling at Stringer Gap Rd, Grants Pass

It's about 5 1/2 hours 1:1 drive time with all the stops plus half an hour to an hour of crawling or shopping at each spot. That leaves me with at least 3 hours for being lost. Perfect!
