After an exhaustive search of the web and this site I am just more confused. I want to purchase a AC/DC lipo charger with a balancer included if possible. Please suggest a high quality charger that works for you. Maybe there should be a definitive charger thread sticky? Thanks in advance for the help"thumbsup"

I'm currently using a Triton and I like it. I'm only charging 2 cell lipos though. When I get a couple 3 cells,I'll go with a Hyperion EOS 5idp These things are awesome little units. Dang near charge anything you'll need.

Hyperion just released the 0606 that charges and balances all in one unit, and it plugs into an AC outlet. Price is $140 I think, I have a package of them coming to my door in a day or two.

Ditto on what raptorman said. I bought the dc only version, which the newest version will do A123 cells too. If you have a power supply, I can't see getting a better charger for the money.

JRH,

Will this be available on the web site soon? I sent you an e-mail asking about some lipo batteries too. Id like to get the whole shebang from HH if possible. I want to buy right the first time instead of buying twice!!

Thanks

I would definitely go with the hyperion 5i ac/dc. I've got the newer version so it charges my a123 packs. This charger is freakin sweet. It charges everything, has really high cell count limits for everything, and plugs into the wall which is way nice. The only downfall is that you have to buy a seperate balancer for it, but it sounds like the 0606 that JRH is getting will fix that problem."thumbsup"

Does the EOS 5i DP AC/DC have balanceing capability or do still have to buy that as well?

Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing:lol:

Well ive decided to get the Hyperion 0606 AC/DC charger now for batteries... Are the Max Amps Lipo's any good and if so is 4 cell 14.8 volts too much (overkill) ? They will fit and are supported by the Mamba Max and the charger. If 14.8 is too much I will look into the 11.1's..

Depends on the motor you are using. For the money the Maxamps lipos are nothing special, they just have good advertising.

Well right now I have been having really good luck with my 27t brushed motor on 7.2 Nimh. But I believe 11.1 or 14.8 will neccesitate a motor change.. What do you suggest in a brushed motor? Will a lathe handle 14.8?

frdtrkgay,

Are you trying to blow yourself up with 14.8 volts? Your crazy.
