I am not a big fan of bugs, but I must say, if there is to be just an awesome bug it has to be a Praying Mantis... We found this dude hanging with us on the rocks at this weekends comp in jersey

last year up at the local skatepark there was about 10 of them crawling around the ramps one night so one of my buddies was picking them up and putting them on his shirt and riding around with them like they were his friends and hitchhikers!

I just killed one like 1 week ago. I stepped on its back half and it was using its claws to try to move but it got stuck to the ground, it was already squished 1 time by someone else or something and it was stuck so I smashed it so it wouldnt suffer !

Thats our mascot ... He attacked 1bjb's poppa.;-)

Not trying to be a dick, but i think that's illegal, bro; at least in the state of Pennsylvania, killing a mantis constitutes a hefty fine.

Not sure if it's the same elsewhere; sounded like it was a mercy killing anyways:lol:

Illegal in VA too.
They are good leapers also, years ago I was sitting out on the porch with a good buzz going and noticed a PM just sitting there. So I was just checking him out for a few minutes when all of a sudden, quicker than I could blink, he lept right up on my knee!

No one killed it, it actually went to fly away and flew right into my step fathers chest, and stopped...he just stood there, because he didnt want to hurt it and then a second or 2 later it flew away.

They like to hang out in the garage at my work and eat all of the bugs that like to bump into the lights and die. Kinda sucks that the bugs they eat are often on the floor covered in diesel fuel. It's not rare to find them dead and discolored like that a day or to later. I see more of those bright green cricket looking insects then PM's.
