The only thing left to do is install elects. 9T pinions. Build body posts. Build skid plates for axles (from Ti of coarse) Put a skin on it and I'll be crawlin'.

This thing has been a blast to build. Can't say I wanna build another anytime soon, but I might be willing to later on.

The chassis is all Titanium except for the aluminum extrusion at the top and bottom. Ti skid plate. Cut and shut clod tires and rims. Full time 4WS (for now), SR speedo, 645 servos, Futaba Magnum Radio. Am I missing anything? Anyway, Thanks guys for turning me on to suck a kick @$$ form of RC.

You guys Rock. I have learned so much from this forum.

Looks good!

For the skid plate you might consider ditching the Ti and going with UHMV, its EXTREMELY slick, VERY durable and VERY strong.

It'd be like spraying your underside with Pam ;) Thats what's going on my next build..

I believe you can get it at Http://www.onlinemetals.com

Looking good!!!! I like the cut and shut clod tires. What is the width of the tire now? and what type of glue do you use? I'd like to make me a set.

I think stock clod tires about 4 inches. I cut 1.5 inches out off the middle. And also cut the wheels down approx 2 inches. I then went after the tread with a pair of wire cutters. They look like they should have some grip, I'll let you know how they work when I get running. I'll post more pics when I get everything going. Should be sometime this weekend.

Thanks Grizz.

I have learned so much from this forum. I think I'm obsessed with it.

I'm getting the rest of the goodies tomorrow to finish it out. I'm itchin' to get it going. Now I just got to find so rocks to try it out on. It ain't easy finding rocks in North Texas.

Hey Texrok, you talked with Cman yet? They are up your way. We are gonna try for a crawl sometime in OCT, maybe at Katemcy, just north of Austin. Interested?

Yeah I'd be interested in that. I used to live in Waco, and I know a land owner out there that has some good crawling grounds. I MIGHT be able to talk to him and see if we could get access to the place for a day. Who knows we may start something. If there are any more Crawlers in the area I'd like to know. I figured there had to be some in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I know I can't be the only one.

Willy,
Is there some way I can contact you more directly for the info?

Hey what's up Texrok!!! :D Whoo hoo another from DFW!!! Sweet rig too!!! You gotta come crawling with us sometime!

So far there's two of us that have been able to make it out but there's 2 more in the works. They haven't been able to make it due to time restraints but they are definitely up for it in the future! Also there's a crawler that goes to my LHS that's been asking about me so I left him some contact info....he's got a stretched TLT so i hear. With you and Willyrocket that makes 7 possible!

Here's a link to the crawl sessions we've had:

The red jeep is Torquer from clodtalk where I met him. We also have a thread there also. here's a link:

We're planning to crawl next on Sept. 4th. We haven't set an exact time or place but if we don't hear from the other 2 we've been talking to we'll probably go to Grapevine Lake again. That's the best place we've found yet to crawl. Plus it's kinda in the middle for Dallas and Ft. Worth. We're willing to drive just about anywhere in DFW to crawl.

That Waco idea sounds pretty cool with me! Willyrocket how far are you from Waco?

The october thing is still in the works. Just waiting on feedback on some dates everyone can go......

Hope to hear from ya! :D

Someone at work said Waco is about 4 -4 1/2 hours. Not bad. Worth the drive Im sure. One of these days, I would like to come up and crawl at Grapevine.....

Oct. sounds cool if we can get into Katemcy. I am still waiting on an email back from them.

If for some reason we cant get into it, maybe Texrok can hook us up....

Either way the date is good (Oct 2-3??????)

That's awsome Cman.
I live in Grapevine. By the looks of your pics, you guys were out around North Shore. Maybe? I would really like meeting up with you guys for a crawling session. Maybe you could teach me a thing or two. :D

Is there some way for me to contact you, or for you to contact me. I guess you could do a PM. I've never done that so it would be new to me.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one in North Texas. Hope to crawl soon.

You live in Grapevine???!!! 8O That's awesome! :D What are the odds? you've had a couple crawlers practically in your backyard! lol!!!

The pics were taken at Murell Park and at Twin Coves. The terrain on the shoreline is really scale, alot like pics I've seen of Moab, that's why we like it!!

You can send a private message by clicking on pm at the bottom of this post. Then we can exchange emails and ph numbers. In fact  I'll go ahead and send ya a pm! Just log in and click on private messages. It's pretty easy....just like posting in here.

We're having our next crawl session on September 4th. Since you live in Grapevine I don't see any reason to go anywhere else! :D Especially since it seems like such a good spot to crawl at! We've looked and so far that's the best place we've found so far. :D
