Project K5: Fat Bastard

Like the paint"thumbsup"
Thanks big dog...I appreciate your kindness.
I am liking the fat ol boy!!!! I wish like all the rest of you guys that we could design our own action figures so we all didn't have the same Sam Fisher or Duke Nukem driving!!! Not bashing your driver in the least bit bro!! Have you thought about putting Highland No-Slop-Lockers in yet? I have them and love em! "thumbsup" Nice tube work... I blow holes in crap when I try to have welding skills...

No shizz on the action figures. Sam has good detail though. Hard to beat. As soon as a locker goes I will be on that upgrade with a quickness. Thanks for the compliments."thumbsup"

It's great to know that my chassis is in good hands.
Job well done....

More to come.....thanks again
i really like this build!!!
I do appreciate it...stay tuned today is my day off and am fixing to put in work.

Okay had to do it....pricey but def scale porn worthy!

Oh Yes DesertRC!!! It is some goodness to be had!!!! You are gonna love it Bro because I absolutely LOVE mine!!!!!!!! More torque then you need for some very entertaining flips, jabs, reverses, spins, pirouettes', jumps It is so much fun!!!! The best thing to put in an RC Scaler if you ask me. I have the 400KV on 2s and its amazing!!! Glad your building this rig the way you want it!!!!!! Keep the updates coming! "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

Never mind the Spur in this pic Bro.. its the 4x4 version and I went with the 2wd version.

Thanks bro. I appreciate it. This rig is getting me excited. If you look closely you can see the multi-hole chassis mounted servo mount. You can see plenty of room To mount the lipo, and electronics box, plus a servo winch nice and clean.

Here is the motor mounted....BEEF!!!

I just have to say if anyone wants to instantly get much better at soldering....get a Hakko 936. I used to get sooo frustrated with my weller. This iron is worth every penny and puts a smile on my face every time I use it.

So after mounting the tranny, I come up with my first hic-up. The tranny and the motor sit right where the interior will need to go and the height of the seats above it does not look right. Man it's more money out but I think I'm going to have to go gcm transfer case and front mount gcm tranny mount.

If anyone has these and wants to get rid of them let me know. "thumbsup"Otherwise I'm placing a order with GCM.

Might have to do some testing with the current set-up to work out the bugs before I get the GCM stuff installed.

VERY nice build , nice work for sure . Just curious as to why two of your Boggers are mounted backwards . Maybe I missed it ? . Nice work either way "thumbsup"

Well back in the beginning before the tsl bloggers were even released, I happended to be the primary sponsored driver for RC4WD. At the time the heads and innovators at Rc4wd only really valued my feedback in testing situations. To get a good feel for the possible new release of the design; they sent me 200 sets for exstensive testing. Months of tedious testing and recording then took place. Really I can't even stand the sight of Boggers to this day spending that much time in the field with them.

After this kind of extensive research only I would know this primary capitalizing advantage....hence the way I have these particular tires strategically mounted. I wouldn't expect others to understand.

Since then I have lost all sponsorship from Rc4wd. And worst of all my driving has gone down the crapper with no foreseeable sponsorships in my future....

Lol. Just playing....they are actually mounted right, Just the wheels are mounted wrong. I have been taking them on and off so much, that I wasn't paying attention.

Well attempt number 3 and I have the wheelbase where I want it. Struggle.

Now the hog sits at 14" flat wheelbase, and belly clearance is 3.75"

Now the front wheels don't pinch into the front and they push out past the stinger about a inch, and about the same inch dragging past the rear. Yup I'm happy. I am sure that it may need some more tweaking once she is loaded with lipos and interior.

I did buy a cross canyon kit made by GCM just to rape the parts from it. It should prove to be good. This will be my first front mounted trans install.

Couple of people have asked me about the wheels. Did some research and they are def made by Bad Attitude Machining. They were custom cut for Millrtme. Here is the OG rig that they came from

I loved the rig but I REALLY wanted the wheels. Here they are currently with custom disk brakes and hubs from roque.

I would like to have the disks cross drilled some day.

One lucky beautiful scale loving day I was scanning the for sale sect and when I saw them I heard angels singing...... Ahhhhhhh! I was like the third view, I swooped with a quickness.

I had spoken to Mr Miller previously about purchasing them a long time before, so I was quite thrilled when I stumbled across them. They were pricey.

So had some issues with the brushless sensored motor. I now know it matters that wires a b c have to match up on sensored motors....that was an couple hours of my life I'll never get back.

Now it runs but the angles on the MIPS drives are too sharp and are clacking due to rubbage. Well, in order too do the interior I have to go transfer case so it will solve the issues with a quickness. I just wanted to run it and start getting used to it. Oh well. Much more work to do.

Okay put in some work on this ole boy today....Fatty went on a little diet and shed a few pounds along with the Wraith axles. I also did some body work.

body not bolted on...
