Project: "Spinning Spyder" Jeep Hurricane Inspired Tuber (and how-to)

i had an idea similar to kamikaze's but i was thinking of an x shaped aluminum piece (one on each side of the axle) that is mounted with the four screws between the two diffs. that way you'd have great support with two plates sandwiching the axles at 4 mounting points. and it wouldn't sacrifice any ground clearance. by the way i'm excited to see this build. persist and don't give up "thumbsup"

To answer a couple of questions:

Yes, the 1:1 has indy suspension, but I wanted this to be a halfway decent crawler, and it has been proven time and time again that solid-axle four link is better than indy suspension for crawling. I am planning on doing some form of outer bracing as well, but I am not sure if I have the capability to fashion a one piece servo mount, but I can probably figure some way to connect them and brace them together. And seeing as I have destroyed four axles, there is no way in heck I am stopping until this thing runs "thumbsup"

Finally an update. Yes, this project is still alive. My parents gave me a waiver saying they would pay for the tube chassis and a portion of the other components for the crawler. I am just waiting on a few things before I start ordering components, then everything will be shipped out to Beckworks to get a chassis. Soon, very soon...

 my parents would never even consider funding an rc project! you are one lucky duck. i look forward to seeing this thing rolling "thumbsup"

Well, after talking with my dad it looks like this project will be canceled. However, a new version with the same ideas (like zero-axis turning) WILL BE BUILT. Look for a new project thread soon.

Lol actually no, the build is not cancelled. I am redesigning the truck before I am finished with it. The new version will be bigger and better then this last one, and I am going to the LHS either today or tomorrow to go get the new driveline components. Keep an eye out for a new project thread anytime now.
