Anybody with any experience? Just found one on the super cheap, can't pass it up.

Ran great when it was parked a couple years ago. 4x4, articulated steering, hyd. dump bed, 20 HP V-Twin Kohler, automotive 4 spd tranny w/ clutch, etc

Watch that poison ivy by your feet

Honestly, never seen one but have had experience with "hidden gems".

Looks like it has had a lot of sun, check anything that will deteriorate with UV exposure. I know up here north of 5280' the critters love to chew on anything soft, including gas/brake lines.

I have one of the Pug 6x4's. The company has gone under so there is no parts support. Ours had lots of issues, they had fairly complex designs with poor engineering IMO.

Those are like a regular side by side correct? The Back Forty?

They don't share much with this model. This has an automotive 4 speed tranny not a CVT style, solid axles frt and rear.

Yeah I know, just made me laugh that you posted this up when not an hour ago I was out looking out ours sitting as a bare frame waiting to be restored. I test drove one of the Badlands before we got the Back Forty 6x4. Ours had quite a few of bad welds and generally poor engineering decisions. The rear suspension was a nice feature over the Gator's of the day but it ended up being a weak link in the long run. With that one I'd be leery of the pivoting/articulating mechanism.

Got it for next to nothing so we will see. Got it from the original owners, used it at their nursery, light duty stuff. Pivot point seems to be in great shape. Motor still has great compression. Gonna get it here in the next couple of days and see for sure.

Sounds like it will be a fun project."thumbsup" I wish I could get a sand blaster that worked, got a bunch of POR15 here waiting to go on mine. On the 6x4's each rear suspension arm rode on one bearing and bolt per side so over time the bearing got ate up and took out the shaft it rode on. Since we basically had to gut the entire rear end to replace the bearings we decided to just go ahead and strip the whole thing. Good luck with yours, keep us updated as you go.

She's a runner!!! And it dwarfs my golf cart.

Cleaned the carb and freed up the stuck solenoid on the carb that caused it to be parked in the 1st place. Started right up after that.

Lights work, ammeter and hourmeter work, hydraulic bed and steering work as well.:mrgreen::mrgreen: Shift linkage needs some lube and adjustment.

Needs tires(26x12-12) but they hold for a day or so allowing me some running.

Had one of the CVT models on my grandpa's farm. They got it in the mid '70's IIRC. Fun to play around with, would go about anywhere you needed to go.

I've got 2 of these PUGS. One is identical to this red one (circa 1993) and a newer model (around 1999). I have numerous rare factory accessories I am considering parting with a few of because I only need one of each. To be sold items would include a red cab, a large hay bale spear, a red personnel carrier bed, possibly a single axle gooseneck trailer w/ stake pockets and side boards. Call Steve 816-510-8995
