I bought a used puller pro stubby a while back, and finally got it hooked up in a truck. It wouldn't work... Sounded like it was trying, and would kinda knock if tried to go forward or reverse.

No binding in the drivetrain anywhere.

I tried a different motor plugged into the esc and it worked fine.

I tried the puller pro with a different esc and the problem was the same.

The motor works fine without the sensor wire, though. I tried a couple different sensor wires and they didn't work, so something is wrong inside the motor.

Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?

are you sure the wires are hooked up right it dosent realy matter in sensorless mode but as soon as you add the sensor it will go haywired like its fighting its self if the wires are wrong
its also posable the sensor board is damaged or dirty
i would play with the wires and if that dosent work try cleaning everything real good and if it still dosent work contact john

If your positive you're using a good sensor wire then the issue must be with the sensor board inside the motor. I believe this is a replaceable part through Holmes.

Thanks for the heads up! I saw those, but for $40 bucks I decided to pass. It's been working pretty well without the sensor wire, because of the 80:1 / 110:1 (front / rear) gearing.

Last night it got replaced with a 1200kv Roc412, anyway...
