I am going to get the rcguy over the axle servo mount and I was reading on the site you have to rotate the mounts 90 degrees.I looked at my truck and to me it seems like it won't work but that could just be me.So if any of you guys are using this mount or something similar as to where you had to do this could you post some pics of what it looks like with the front wheels off the truck so I can get a better understanding thanks a lot in advance.:?:

dude the mount that the lower link and the shock attach too....unscrew the shocks and links, unscrew the mount and turn in so the screws heads are facing to the inside of the truck. sorry man i dont have any good pix to show ya.....

hope that mess of words made some type of sense.

It looks like it won't cause o the tabs that are on the axles...you can either file them down or just tighten the mounts over them...

Is it this one ?

4. Now that you truck is back together, we need to install better steering. The stock steering works ok for bashing, but now that we've stretched the wheelbase and locked the differentials, we will need much better steering. I went with the new http://www.rcguy.com steering kits. They bolt up securely to the front axle, and are very durable. Not only do they look great, but they can use the stock Wheely King parts for the steering links. Definitely a must have for anyone upgrading their Wheely King, and at a incredible cost as well.

Don't worry about the tabs. Some ppl cut them off, I left them on, and used them to keep the mounts "wedged" against the outer axle ends. Just tighten the screws down, check them after the first couple runs, and then they'll be good. I just did the mod a few weeks back, aside from the added wheelbase, it seems to crawl better and flex a little less. Which for me was good cause I had too much articulation. Good luck! You'll love it when you are done.

I know which mounts need to be turned I don't understand how the links and shocks will mount once it is turned that's why I was hoping for some pics to look at.Anyone who got this mount does it come with illustrated instructions.

thanks jetboat that is exactly what I needed btw real nice rig keep up the good work and thanks again "thumbsup"

if your shock ends (end on the bottom of shock with ball) wont fit in the stock holes u can drill your own so they are in a little bit more..i dont have any good pics atm but i am in the process of getting the extra .5 inch out of my truck ill post some pics tomorrow ;)

okay I was doing some looking around last night and I took a good look at a top view of the scorpion chasis and started thinking I saw how their shocks and links are mounted.what do you think about this idea rotate the mounts, put a longer screw through the shock and mount then use a washer on the inside then slide the end of the link on the same screw and and tighten with a 4 40 lock nut.Do you guys think it could work has anyone tried it before and finally are there any pros or cons that you see mounting them this way thanks in advance.

That is what I did ... I used a single 3mm machine screw and lock nut and mounted the shock between the tabs on the mount and the link on the inside. So far so good, but I have nothing to compare it to. I extended the wheelbase at the same time that I rotated the shcok mount, and I don't think the stock shafts were long enough ... so hopefully you were planning on doing that at the same time.

ok I tried it and it works but know I can't get my wb to 12.5 it's only about 11.5 and I even changed out the driveshafts to the t-maxx shafts and if I stretch it any further they will not match up so now I'm stuck I couldn't calculate millimeters to inches because in hpi's website everything is in millimeters.I am going on trial and error and it is starting to get frustrated so maybe I'm going to opt for strc links or something similar.Any help is greatly appreciated. :x

I made my own links but I can't get the lengths right because I am having problems converting the millimeters in hpi's website to inches.are the t-maxx driveshafts the ones everybody is using when extending the wheelbase because like I said if I extend it any further the driveshafts will not slide in each other.

You can use Google to convert mm to in. For example if you wanted to convert 128 mm to inches, go to www.google.com and type in
convert 128 mm to in
hit enter and read the result.

Or just take 128 and devide by 25.4. Either one will give you the inches you are looking for. In the example, it is 5.039" or about 5-1/32". (slightly over - 5-1/32" is 5.03125 .008" is about equal to the thickness of 4 sheets of paper)
