I don't do drugs I don't claim any religion but I do love tacos!
The point is that so many people sit around pointing fingers instead of putting words into actions. I threw out some ideas earlier so let's see what other people have to offer.
If we spent half the time actually putting forth some effort towards making changes as we do just sitting around pointing fingers between who's right and who's wrong then something might actually get done and that's what I am trying to do here.

Do you not realize there are 'powers that be' that ultimately determine how society ends up? What exactly do you propose to initiate 'change'?
From where I'm sitting a full on revolution against govt seems like the only option left, but that is a pipe dream. And even then you're still left with the media and 'social media' which are additional inhibitors of social progress which might never get 'unlearned'.

The problem is, as RANOVRU said, the powers that be. Things COULD get done if they'd quit getting in each others way when they want to do something. They need to actually work together to come up with a solution. Not come up with one on their own, put it out there & watch it get shut down by the opposing side.

Yes I am well aware of the "1%" if you will. The only reason they have control is because they have brainwashed people into believing they have no way out. Your proposal of a revolution against the government does not sound like a terrible idea. Is it possible? Absolutely!!! Will the citizens of America today join the fight? Probably not. It is going to take something catastrophic to change people's way of thinking and living these days.
There is strength in numbers and if some of us can come to a solid middle ground and forge ahead then I swear that more will follow. People love to be followers and told what to do sometimes they just need a little persuasion.

We need a tough stance to change things.
Ban new Muslims from importing. I say we stop all people from importing, but Muslims are a great start.
Enforce current laws and give much more extreme punishments. Do you know what they do to criminals in Iraq? They lose appendages, extremities, of their lives and that's all carried out in public. There are no cushy life term sentences in a prison paid for by tax payers.
The problem is we have the worst President in history in office. I swear he's a Muslim and possibly a terrorist. Why else would he allow them into our country without more thorough screening?
The new generation is also full of self righteous, spineless, politically correct weasels that care more about hurting somebody's feelings than they care about their own country and their own future.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. The government no longer has our back nor do they really care for our own good. Stock up on personal protection. You just might need it. I'm not a gun owner, but I will be shortly.

Why stop there?... You can ban chinese goods, oil from middle east and a lot more stuff. Infact a fullstop on import export is a good idea for any country.
Running a country is not about isolation anymore. Its a constant war for power and power is composed of natural resources, harnessing man power, creating allies, stable economy, currency value, creating safety nets in present and future.. etc. Look at North Korea as an example.
Your idea of isolation is good for when war was won with swords, horses and men.
I do agree with banning muslims for the time being because of safety issues. Donald Trump also said that.
Goods are different than people. You can't even compare the two.
No other country in the world, that I know of, has an open door policy like the US. We let anybody and everybody import with weak background checks. Try doing that in other countries.

Immigration is what this country was founded on, so yes, we are unlike any other nation on the planet. We were meant to be the shining example for the world of an open society where everyone was welcome, we always have been. If you don't like that, I'm sure you can find the door...

If you want to curtail terrorism in its forms and look for just 1 thing that ties the majority of terrorism, that would be any and all forms of religion. Ban religion, I could easily get behind that. Allow personal faith, just nothing allowing congregational cult methods of beliefs.

I am a multiple gun owner and advocate. However I don't support the GOP or the NRA's idiotic methods. I also don't support the Liberals agenda on gun control. What we need is a few tweaks and changes that make it safer for all citizens without over reaching the constitutional rights. This does exist, its just an area no GOP or Liberal will ever be able to see because they are blind to common sense.

A great start would be for King SHitbama to just start enforcing the laws we have on the books as it is. There is no immigration policy at this point. Anyone who wants in just needs to walk across the border.

Kind of how the Plymouth settlers just waltzed in as they wanted and created a country when the land was already not theirs and they were merely visiting immigrants with no desire to become citizens of the existing communities/tribes of Native Americans.

We are founded on immigration? It's a nice thought, but not exactly reality. Do the Indians agree with the idea that the US was founded on immigration?
The forefathers came in, raged war, and took over the land from the natives. Then people just settled here, on this open land, when news got back to the mainland. This is exactly what is going to repeat if you keep letting terrorist into this country. I mean look how well the recent immigration to France worked out for them. The immigrants are raising havoc in Europe right now. If you want to live in the environment, you should find the door and leave so you can move into the middle of the turmoil.
The people like you that hope to keep the open door policy are those who will help destroy this country. I hope you are prepared to tell your family and friends that you wanted to keep the borders open if any of them get caught in a terror attack like San Bernadino. Those "immigrants" didn't work out well for us did they? And it's only going to happen more often in the future as we allow more ISIS supporters into this country. You see, ISIS is doing everything in its power to grow and cause as much havoc as possible.
I'm not saying we can't reopen the borders in the future, but now is not the time to be PC. We have to get control of the country and the terrorist that are already here before we can even think about handling more of them coming into the country.

Completely different situation. Syrians are not walking en mass to our borders.
Guilt trip much? As far as those "immigrants", one was a natural born citizen.
ISIS has a quite broad and complex plan with specific goals. If all you know is the obvious, I'd suggest you do more research before discussing it.
Maybe we should take all the guns away, and then sometime in the future, when all the craziness has stopped, we'll let people have them again. We need to get control before things get worse. Sound good?

I am from a country where muslim population is 14.2% according to current statistics.
Over the years I have experienced somethings which most of you are not aware of and have not experienced. Some of you might be aware of but won't speak due to being labelled as racist. I won't go into it because people cannot understand such things through words. Experiencing it brings out the fine details and real picture.
However ...
There were 2 events in India.
1) Mumbai blast
2) France type killing in Mumbai
When the terrorists involved in these two events were given death sentence by our judical system, the whole muslim community gathered (several thousands) at that place moaning and pleading for their release. They even used bad words towards India, burnt police vehicles, stone pelting. Several petitions were filled in court to free them. Some muslim women tried to marry them so that they were given a mercy freedom or case lengthened.
These were muslims that are considered as our own by all Indians and yet when time comes they don't flinch to spit right into the face of a country that gave them everything.
Sometimes keeping humane feelings aside and being aware of the type of enemy, is more important then having a blanket of social delussion cover the mind.
After being aware, we all have the common sense to come to the right conclussion.
