Quick question re: LED lights

So I want to get lights going on a few of my rigs - as simply as possible.

I've used the LED's that plug into the receiver via a servo wire, and I was thinking of just doing that myself.

I came across some LED lights with built-in resistors on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/120PCS-Colors-Bright-Diodes-White/dp/B01NAHYUBD/

But wanted to know what the "DC 12v" on it means. Is that the maximum voltage it can take or do I need to run 12v through them to get them to work? My ESC is set to 6v on pretty much all the trucks I have.

Those will work but with lower voltage (i.e. 2S) the output will be more dim than closer to 12V (i.e. 3S).

I have only had luck running those kind on 3s/12v. I'm sure they'll work on slightly less, but they never work on 6v when I try.

Do they light up at all? These are more for cosmetic and not for night crawls, but a little light would be nice

The ones I've used, no. It took about 8-9v to get them to light at all.

Damn. I'll have to keep looking. I do see that the ready made ones have a voltage range of 3 - 7v, so maybe I'll need to get something in that range. I don't see myself going above 6v in these specific rigs anyway.

They are prewired with the load resistor, have a large voltage range (3-12VDC), and are reliable.

Yup. I saw those, but I'm in Canada and I'd have to pay a lot extra just to get them here. But I do realize that's the one I need to look for

Those LEDs being linked to are super inexpensive!
I wanted to offer to help though if you want to make your own custom LED strings.

If you are running on six volts, just get yourself 100 of the 220 ohm 1/4 or 1/8 watt resistors. You can get them from digikey.ca if you don't have some other place to get them.
You might consider just changing out the resistors on the inexpensive pre-wired LEDs if that is all that is needed to get them to work properly for you.

Thanks for the offer! I did have my eyes on the Receiver Power distributor (or two, or three :lmao. No immediate plans for them yet, so I haven't placed an order yet. I'll probably have this light situation sorted out before then as my son just wants some lights on his truck in any capacity. ;-)
