Ive searched all weekend for the info but no luck, does anyone know if I can use my old futaba 6 channel skysport and reciever in a clod? Do I just plug it into channel 1 on the reciever and plug the servos inthe channels i need them on? I have a xl1 esc. Any help would be greatful. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the freq? ie: 75mhz and 72mgz, I know when i was flying planes I always worried about someone turning on a radio and shooting me down.....:(, It just a back yard basher and im not close to any flying sites in the area. I dont mind the extra weight for the battery to run the servos, i actually need to add some weight anyways, is it possible to have it changed or is it cheaper to just get a new radio? like the dx6?

btw sacco i just got back from shreveport tonight....lol

hehe, I am headed over to shreveport today! Just missed ya.

I would buy a new radio if I were you. You would love getting a dx6, cause you will never have any channel conflicts.

Your esc should power the servos, but you can run a receiver pack for more servo pop if you want. Just remember to disconnect the red wire from the esc to the rec.

Is the red wire what feeds the servos from the esc? Ill disconnect it tonight, I ran it with it last night and it worked ok I guess im lucky it didnt fry it....lol The only reason im wanting to run the battery pack is so run the servos off it so i wont take away from the motor battery pack for longer run time. who makes the dx6? i looked in tower hobbies and couldnt find one. i like the mixing function as my skysport can do that so I think i wil lget a dx6.

thanks sacco, I found a dx6i that looks like it might work, I'll have to call horizon in a coupleof days. Just to clarify on the rec tho, I just desconnect the red wire from the esc were it goes inot the rec and run the seperate battery pack for the servos correct?

Yep."thumbsup"

We got a comp in shreveport Saturday. If you wanna come, shoot me a PM and I will give you the details.
