New to scale trucks and I cannot wait to get my hands on the Gelande D90 Kit.
I have never built a RC car before so this is all new to me.

Few questions I'd like to ask before purchasing the kit tomorrow from Modelsport, purchase before 2pm for next day delivery so it'll hopefully be here Wednesday!

1. Do shocks, diffs come already greased?
2. Would it be worth putting in a little bit of marine grease in the diffs, transmission gears?
3. Since I am new to Kit building how easy is the RC4WD Gelande D90 kit building out of - 1/10
4. Is Plasti Dip worth buying as I've been told it's easy to remove from the body?

This is what I have in my RC Cars, Remote Control Cars and Radio Controlled Cars from Modelsport UK Basket so far.

- RC4WD Gelande II Truck Kit with Defender D90 Body Set Z-K0001
- Power HD LW20 Waterproof High Torque Metal Gear Servo - Blue HD-LW-20MG
- Etronix JR Twisted Extension Wire - 15cm ET0733J incase I need them?)
- Hobbywing QUICRUN 1060 Brushed ESC HW30105060001
- RC4WD 540 Crawler Brushed Motor 35T Z-E0005

Is that good enough? I have a DX4C transmitter with the 4 channel receiver which should do me well.

May add a few more questions.

Will be purchasing this kit tomorrow so answers, discussion about this kit are always welcome thank you.

Welcome to the scale scene. The Gelande 2 D90 is a great kit to start with (it was my first hardbody scaler when I was getting into the hobby). Check out the guide that I put together on the RC4WD Forum for lots of good info about the basic platform, build tips, etc.:
Comprehensive Guide to the Gelande 2

The servo looks fine. The ESC should be okay as a starter ESC, but there are others that offer more programming options. The Castle Sidewinder is very good and can be programmed easily with Castle Link:
Castle SV3 Sidewinder Waterproof 1/10th ESC CC11500

The RC4WD motor is a solid motor. You might want to run 3S with that motor for more torque and wheel speed.

As far as the build itself, the instructions are very straightforward and easy to follow. Just remember to use thread lock on all metal-into-metal screws, even on the components (like axles, tranny case, etc.) that are pre-assembled. And you should open the axles, tranny and t-case to grease them. That's all covered in the guide, so between that and the instructions, you should be well on your way.

Enjoy and be sure to post a build thread! "thumbsup"

X2 and that esc is a great esc, only place it lacks a bit is in steep descent it requires learning fine throttle control from full drag brake to light throttle and vice versa so as to not tumble forward down the slope. I like mine so much that my Tekin FXRs have been sitting around doing nothing for couple years. I'm that unmotivated to swap out Esc. Lol

This is basically same esc that comes with Ascender rtr.
