This will be an RC Tuff Truck event along with a scale GTG. We will start the day with the RCTT events and than go on a Scale Trail run.

The RCTT events will be judged and scored, but we will try to leave the courses setup afterwards for those who wish to practice or just give it a try without a judge watching.

Here is a link to the google map for the park in Tomball

Looking at the rules, buggies have a max WB of 13". That makes wraith's illegal.

Sorry about that, typo, both buggies and bodies without wheel wells should be 13.5"s max.

This may change as things go on, I don't see any real advantage in a longer wheelbase as long as the frame or chassis extends to or beyond the axles.

Wraiths will be legal, as always we are only interested in having fun out there.

Legal or not I would like to compete, but it might be out of the question seeing how I am not waterproof yet. It is on my list of things to do, however it got bumped down the list when I brought my Trailfinder 2 home.

No worries, My R1 is not waterproof nor is my Yota, we won't be doing in water events until we are sure everyone has had time to waterproof properly. Again the events are meant to be fun not exclusive, we will make sure people are qualified and can run.

Now when we go on the trail run, we may hit deep water but that will still be optional.

Been out on vacation etc. Good news and Bad news to report. I visited the park today.

Bad news is that the creek is full and flowing like the 28th day.

Good news is I scouted out the runoff ravine that runs a wooded section of the park semi adjacent to one of the trails. It's a good stretch perfect for follow the leader or a timed endurance type run. There are also plenty of sections where shorter courses could be made with gates. I also noted an area on the map where the trail begins and their are several dirt mounds which present several different possibilities.

I will post up some pics I took tomorrow.

Some pics from the ravine area where we can run. These are only a few, I could have taken at least 50 to get the whole scope of it.

There is a lot of opportunity for hill climbing in and out of the ravine, some small water areas, sand, and possibly a little mud here and there. We can get it as brutal or tame as one wants.

Sorry for taking so long to reply TexasSP, pics look great, the park is big, we will find a spot to play.

More rain is coming but Saturday is suppose to be nice, should be a great day, I'm expecting or hoping for a small turnout so maybe we can also get in a good long trail run with some mud involved.

Again Sorry for the slow reply, I hope to get more time online and on RCC before long, just been busy with life, I do check RCGearheads at least once a day.

Sorry for the delay, Daughters brought home report cards friday with straight A's so after the comp I had to take them to Toysrus, the supersoaker war lasted until late sunday night.

Man what a great event, the weather was perfect and the terrain was awesome, the mud was a bit slick, but only for people, the trucks handled it fine. I had a great time and it's good to know even when the creek is running there is still a ton of terrain.

Most of the regulars called in sick, but we had a whole group of Spring Creek Park Locals to show us around. They were new to comping but not trail running. We ran two short courses and than spent the rest of the day out on the trails, it lasted all day but the day went by fast.

I'm looking forward to the next event, head over to www.rcgearheads.com to discuss the next comp date and location.
