Yes, should do it for the rest of the 50 states. Bubbles? Julian? Trevor? Who's there?![]()

True, but most people I know that bring up the bike path updates, that's (taxes lost from fuel and such) the argument they throw out.
We need bike paths everywhere, it's good to ease traffic/pollution, good for exercise, and why should I care how people get to/from work...good for those who ride their bikes! "thumbsup"
Same here. And when they bring it up, I ask them how much my bike damages the road that I ride on when compared to their vehicle.
Anyway they try to spin it, me riding my bike is not costing people money nor is it me trying to get out of paying my taxes. People just like to bitch about anything they can.
Equal rights require equal responsibility.
To have equal responsibility the riders must have a state endorsement proving they have the training to follow the rules and a positive identification for any accidents, or infractions they may be involved in (like a drivers license.)
As well they would need a minimum of liability insurance.
Also vehicle registration.
I must have all of these to utilize the US road system according to the law.
Why can't bikes sharing the roads step up and take their share of the cost, liability, and responsibility of using the public road system?
Exactly. The people who get mad at me riding are always the self involved (texting, sucking down a burger and smoking at the same time) fat ass drivers who think that that specific road was built for their car and their car alone. They be wrong. They typically treat other drivers in the same manner as they treat me....
im not disagreeing with you, but do not overlook that there are also plenty of self involved bikers. i'd say the same ratio of drivers/cyclists are assholes.
if someone thinks that by riding a bike they get some sort of pass on obeying traffic laws or being considerate to motorists, then i hate them.
i coexist with bike riders everyday. the good ones ride as part of traffic and recognize and obey the same laws that i do. the bad ones view motorists as some kind of enemy and look for any chance they can to antagonize them.

I agree. Just the other day, I was sitting at a red light, in the bike lane (I was about to cross the access road along I10) and another biker flew past me without even slowing down. When my light turned green and I caught up to him, I let him know that he makes all cyclists look bad when he blatantly disregards the laws....im not disagreeing with you, but do not overlook that there are also plenty of self involved bikers. i'd say the same ratio of drivers/cyclists are assholes.
I fawkin hate Critical Mass... damn massholes!
I got in a big argument with a couple biker friends about it... to the point I thought we may actually not be friends anymore.
They say it's to spread biker awareness but it's really just a drunken mob fawkin up traffic.
Other countries require several tests over the years to earn and keep a license....here, just once and your good for life. That needs to change as well....

I know i am out of line here as i am not American, but i think the problem really is global.
Biggest of all is that it is the same old same old, granted there might be some new meat in both camps, but you can be sure that they will not be allowed to bring anything new to the table.
So the biggest problem is the entrenched same old same old, and thats why they all have to go ASAP.
I am pretty sure even a pimple faced teen with ADHD will do a less damaging job than the dinosaurs of politics today.
