That sucks about the broken screws, read somewhere before that their screws had a tendency to strip as well.

Might want to look into getting a Set of KNK screws for $20, probably going to do the same myself. Just ordered up myself a 3 Set of MiP drivers so hopefully that will help me from stripping screws so darn much. Need to get another that I can use for my Beadlock Wheels, those are supremely easy to strip.

I've yet to strip a screw head since I bought my MIP drivers, and I've fully assembled three kits, including my TF2 disassemble/reassemble with all factory hardware.

Well, that is good to hear. Just ordered 3 MIP drivers, 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm which should cover almost all the screws that I have on my vehicles.

Still having a spare set of KNK screws doesn't hurt as they are a direct replacement for pretty much every single screw I believe. You know just in case a screw goes missing or you accidentally strip out a head or what not.

KNK hardware is the best. I bought the same 3 driver set, they're phenomenal. I have a 3mm driver from my previous set for the odd time I need it which is pretty rare on crawlers.

Typically KNK screws are stronger than the Kit screws in pretty much all vehicles, that and they are stainless steel.

I would assume so, but don't quote me on that. Personally only own Gmade Komodo and SCX10 II set's, even still not sure if it includes every single screw as I am just replacing them as needed. Though from the looks of the manual and what screws I have it looks like they have them all.

Today I managed to get a bit done, or at least started. Nothing is done....
First I roughed in the floor / door panel pan.

I then moved on to the bumpers and sliders.

Everything still needs a tone of work . Should be pretty cool when done.

Alright . I finally have the basics fabed up . The bumpers and sliders are mocked up , the interior tub , seat and door panels are done.
and the new radio tray is done.
I actually ended up modifying allot more than I expected. It's been fun.
This evening I tore the entire rig back down to bare frame. As I now know the weight and balance of the rig and have figured out the suspension set up I need for the added weight of all of the mods it was time to do the real build.
They weren't kidding about the factory lack of grease in the running gear. I had nearly none.
The front axle in my kit was shimmed pretty well as delivered, as was the rear.
I'm looking forward to finally being able to run this thing.

The floor pan and new electronics tray are mounted to the chassis then the body slips over them.

Very cool mods. I like how you moved the shifting servo to the bottom to free space for the interior. Looking forward to seeing more progress

Looking good, wish I had the ability to do something along these lines to mine but lack of a Machine and Knowledge is not in my favor. Either way looking forward to seeing more and maybe some videos.

Don't like the added weight of my first front bumper attempt . Will be machining a new one today from aluminum.

I was finally able to spend some time in front of my mill today. Ended up stealing one of my wife's bar stools. Damn knees.
Any way, I managed to get a set of bumpers machined that I think I will be happy with.
I ended up blending the winch bumper in under the stock Yota bumper. With a bit of trimming I think an RC4wd Warn 9000 will just fit.
The rear is just your standard step bumper.
They are a tone lighter than the steel bumpers that I built last week.

Yes I am building the mounts. The picture shows them unfinished.

I'll probably end up painting them. Thought about polishing them but paint is lower maintenance.
