I have been thinking about grinding the tread off my narrowed swamp kongs and glueing sand padles on instead. Anyone have any input or advice? They will be for sand and mud so I am not real concerned about lack of flex, but how long do the hybrid tires last before needing to be reguled? I'm just looking for some input here guys.

Honestly,It'll be allot of work for little gain. I tried it once but ended up cutting the whole section out and replacing the whole tread section. I'd take the Swamp Kongs and just cut the little lugs out. Like guys do with Boggers in the 1:1 stuff. Trim every other lugs out and they'll hook up like MAD in the mud.

To answer your question though, retread RC tires last a good while. Dang near as long as a brand new tire I guess.....If the glue holds out:lol:

These swamp kongs have been narroed to 2.5 inches, the tread is just a flat bar from one side to the other with a groove in the center of the tread all the way around. I'll see if I can find a pic to post.
