Hello everyone,

I’m new to the forum and just now wanting to back into rc after 13 years. I purchased a hobby grade rc for my son on his birthday and it made me want to bring out my old Traxxas Stampede. Man has the world of rc changed since I was into it. My batteries no longer worked, as to be expected. I don’t know what to call it but I had to old style battery connectors. I was able to buy a battery off amazon that still had that style connector and the old stampede still worked. The performance wasn’t what I remembered, it was quite lacking compared to my son’s rc.

Anyway I’ve been wanting to get back into rc but I’m not really wanting a basher type rc. After researching a bit, I’ve decided to get a scale crawler. I like traxxas but I’m not stuck on one brand. I’ve been waiting for the TRX4 Sport to become available but have been looking at the axial scx10 2, especially the honcho.

What would be a better platform to get into for my first rig? I know the TRX4 sport has not came out yet but it’s pretty much the same as the regular one, just without 2 gear transmission and unlocks me diffs. I know theres a huge after market support for the scx and the traxxas will soon be at that level. Should I get the scx10 2 or wait for the sport to come out?

Thanks,
