rifle bipod

I am thinking about making a bipod for my rifle. It is a Savage .22 Lr, heres a pic.

The ? is, do you guys think that I should make a bolt-on bipod, or make a pair of shooting sticks? Also, does anyone have any experience making bedding blocks? I am interested in making one for it as well. I know, I know, this is not a multi-thousand $ laser-accurate rifle, but I am happy knowing that it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

may not be execly for a .22 but will work had on for my .22(before i could steady it for myself) there awsome realy nice peice.

Do the bolt on if you don't plan on carrying it around much. But if you plan on carrying it around in the fields half the time just make your self a nice stand.

ask the guys on this forum. there are some over there that can work absolute magic with a rifle. no better knowledge source for savage rifles, either.
