Rock crawling or circus

Should there be man made stuff or should it be natural

I look forward to seeing the courses Parker builds, if lucky I will drive them all too. Either way they will as always be challenging. "thumbsup"
Guess really all courses are always man made....i've yet to walk up to rocks and find cute little gate markers there naturally. Parker knows I hate the mud, but to not be at WCC or any event he builds courses for would be worse than cleaning my truck.

If I drive your courses like I did at WCC just promise you will hold me while I suck my thumb again Parker. I'll probably cry this time too.

i don't see why some of u are whineing about getin ur rigs a little wet or muddy, i've been to a couple of the bprca events where the water was deeper and the mud was soupier then wcc. i say if parker can put it in a course run it thats what makes u a champ. so leave ur crying at the start gate and "DO WORK DRIVER"

Just curious...are you participating? "thumbsup"

Since most of us don't have the ability to practice on tricked up man made obsticles during the year...do you think its right to force them to suddenly start at Worlds?

Its one thing when terrian is limited or indoors, and its another when you have an entire mountain of rock at your disposal.

BTW 77% is more than "some" "thumbsup"

Maybe its my limited terrain here in Michigan...but all those rocks I don't see a need for gimmicks.

I don't think water/mud are really things more than 20% of comp crawlers are ready for. Unless someone is willing to pay for all my electronics. I have a fully waterproof scaler for that stuff.

The 'man made' stuff that Parker puts on the courses are all about visual pop. It gives the drivers and spectators somehting interesting to look at. It's all about fun. These 'man made' obstacles are not meant to harm rigs or favor one driver over the other. Every year members of this board get their panties in a bunch and whine about them. The ones who actually do drive the courses know they are fun I have never heard complaints at the comps about them with one exception being the mud. I have heard the whiners talk about the mud, but there is a cleaning station next to the course. The mud is used to 'slicken' the surface and create a bit more challenge. The water is usually 1" deep, so electronic issues are rare.

So would you like to be the first or last guy to climb the rocks coming out of the mud pit?

I say last. At WCC the mud pit eventually dried up or at least it was no where near a goopy as it was in the morning. I never liked the cables either so I guess those are complaints. Would I still drive the course, sure why not. Should it be at a worlds event, probly not.

The good drivers will still be the good drivers even if the courses were made of jello and rubber bands. Most of trial and error has already been done. BPRCA knows how the keep the obsticals consistant for each driver.

How could someone not like the cables?? :)

I've never complained about the whacky obstacles Parker has put in the WCC comps, and I've been to all of them. This year, the mud took out my motor, thankfully it didn't quit until after the comp was over. And as far as the water being 1" deep.....multiply that times 8-12 times. The deepest you were forced to drive through was about 5-6", but the potential for total submersion of your rig was a possibility, if you couldn't hold your line in some places;)
All part of the personality of the WCC comps, it's been the norm since the beginning, but the Worlds should have a different personality all it's own8)

Most 1:1 rock crawling comps have mudbogs and lakes to drive through. "thumbsup":-P

I don't like them, but I drive them because there is no way around them. '08 I didn't even get a chance to think about them, since I was out of time when I got to them and just had to line up and pin the 25T and 16.8v's and I shot right across them:ror:

Why are people who would rather drive on rocks vs the "man made" stuff whiners? To me it sounds like your the one thats got you panties in a bunch because 77% of the people voted don't agree with you.

I forgot about the dried mud at AWCC...go last on that then.

The cables are sortof a crap shoot. I like them, but I agree that rig width does play a part. Now that most rigs are all close in width it's not as big of an issue as it was 3 years ago.

My panties never get in a bunch because I wear boxer briefs. You will most likely never catch me complaining or whining because I see what is given and make my adjustments. I don't expect the world to revolve around me.

i spend alot of money on my rig. and i spend even more time taking it apart and putting it back together to clean and lube it. last thing i want to do is drive it through water, mud, cheese fumunda or anything else.

cables and wood bridges are fine because they wont change the performance of my truck for the next course. i dont wanna have to clean my tires and re-grease my bearing after a 6inch mud pit just to drive it again in 15 minutes:|

mmm...Frumunda...the best cheese ever made. I once ordered a Frumunda chess omelet as Denny's , but the waitress told me they didn't have that kind. I begged to differ.

Obviously you didn't drive the lower course on sunday at '09 WCC. A manmade bridge fell over and every driver after that had to do a "STUPID" drop off the first gate just to start the course!.....

As far as the cables? .....yeah we all drive them, but last year at Nats (2) 12 foot falls off the cables cost me at least a top 10 if not top 5 or 7 spot in SUPERS. Not to mention about $200 to put my rig back together....

IMO, just not rock crawling!...."thumbsup"...
