CITY of CHAMPIONS!!
I finally bit the bullet and did it, it started with the super and trickled to the 2.2. i retired the tube chassis to evolve to better things.

I just saw too many amazing things at ecc not to at least give it a try so, here it is..rockbound's moon buggy.

Anyway

i will be using most of the stuff from my tuber for the build substituting a few things here and there.

obviously berg axles w/300 shafts front and one off titanium rear shafts w/straight axle conversion
v11 35t motors
tie moonbuggy chassis
mamba max for now till the new novak m2 dig esc comes out
punk dig until theat esc comes out
still dinosaur radio and novak xxtra receiver
pro comp wheels in front
slw in the rear
sedonnas with nova dual stage foams
started build with traxxas big bores (slash fronts) but ordered integy msr11's that have ball end on both ends 98mm (3.5")
running tie rear high clearance derlin links
front high clearence derlin links on order
carbon fiber upper links on order
revo rod ends all around
going to use 18g wire and deans micro plugs to cut weight
rhino 1050 3cell lipo 40c (couldnt pass up the price) http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=9608

think thats it for list of goodies.

I have to say meeting the guys from t1e at ecc made my decision to change easier. They are a great group of guys that offer all the help and insight on their chassis with no qualms. they really are a top notch group of guys and willing to help with anything anytime.

On to the chassis, all i can say is wow, they really took their time and perfected this thing, the battery tray and receiver tray attached to the skid are brilliant, the chassis has so many options to tune and move links and shocks i didnt know where to start. Thanks to mike (rockshow) and especially jim (turbofest) for giving me some pointers and a place to start.

so on to the pics

I can't believe that you finally switched to the moon buggy. You'll love that new chasis. MustangBoy's building a new one too.

ECC opened up a lot of peoples' eyes. Oh God - there goes any hope of Evil Twin or myself doing good in the series...

Speak for yourself! :flipoff:

I look forward to beating...errr...seeing this run in a couple weeks.

Nice job so far C.J. Motorama made my decision. After talking to Andy (CRS Macgyver ) 66 Bronco and seeing the others run. I bought one. Been sitting on the bench. Now its almost done. I love it. All the guys at t1e are so helpful. I sold bully comp rig yesterday. Built the bergs to go under the moonbuggy also. I'm surprised you didn't have the white chassis dyed blue with some white panels.

thanks guys, progress will be slow, waiting for parts. hopefully not too slow with a comp coming up in 2 weeks. lol

was thinking about the white and dyeing it, but the super was already black so i stuck with it. "thumbsup"

Looks GREAT C.J.!! Cant wait till it's finished...this thing is gonna blow your mind!

I finished up your new front links last night. They'll be on their way to you shortly ;)

hobby shop has some parts for me today, and expecting front links in the mail, cant wait to get home to do some more tinkering. "thumbsup"

if i get real motivated i may get her moving tonight

ok guys time for some updates.

i got the shocks, but like i said previously, i ordered the wrong size, but i decided to start building with the longer shocks anyway just for mock up. when the new ones come in, i can swap them out.

i got my front links custom made by turbofest. man these are sweet! custom curve to match/act as a slide to the motors. THANKS JIM these are top notch!

I mocked up the upper links with brakeline for now, they will eventually be my spares as i will swap them out for lighter graphite ones soon.

massive ground clearance with the link setup. should settle a little, but not much with the smaller shocks, as they will mount a hole or 2 further back.

well i got her all buttoned up today, decided to wait to go with the micro deans till the other esc and batteries come in, i will do a whole new re wire job when the time comes.

the mamba fit nicely down inside the chassis, mounted bec and punk above it.

ready to run weight can be seen on scale, and i threw together some body panels.

wanted to get this thing together to get some practice and tweek time before next comp and bg2!
