Sacramento Scaler GTG/Comps

We over @ onetensacdrift .net have been thinking about setting up a second forum for scaler dudes in the sacramento area and northern california. I am making no promises but wanted to hear your thoughts on it. Let us know what u think.

i have to agree with tom. I saw lots of terrain at the g6 that was similar to folsom point and dotens. The two big differences were the cost of parking and.......the poison oak! The poison oak was pretty thick at the g6. As long as the water level stays down, i would prefer to stay away from poison oak.

x2...............................................

We need to start havin a comp once a month in SAC ... whut you guys think?????

Yes scaler comp or just a good GTG!!!

Survived last weekend's g6 o.k. with out a lot of breakage, but I spun the pin on one of my cvd driveshafts... later I tore them down and found out why....

They're pretty rounded out, they look like little wine barrels.:ror:

Anyway, I rebuilt them, packed them with grease and used some heat-shrink tubing to try to seal everything up, we'll see how long it lasts.

Also picked up a alloy tranny half, hopefully this will be bullet-proof for the next G-6 "thumbsup"

That heat shrink is a great idea on the ends of the drive lines, I always seem to loose the pins even with the set screw tight.

i use drill shanks for all my pins and grind or dremel a little flat on them also to help secure the set screw. drills are cheap and if you use jobber length you can get 3 pins out of a blank depending on length. been doing this in the shop for many years and have good success. the shrink wrap worked okay for me, but it tore some of the time and it got in the way of maintainance though it did work.

it's nice to be able to get rebuild parts for the drivelines and MIP's are the best imo for this reason.

Chris, tranny cover looks great. if i can't get helicoils to work in the plastic i might have to try those, tired of stripped threads.

Thanks, although I cant recommend this set from Hot Racing. I basically bought them 'cause they were cheap, and I'm only using one side, the other is a solid piece from stage3, and is no longer made.
The HR pieces arent indexed, which means I had to grind away on it for an hour before I could get it to mate up properly. Real pain in the ass.

As soon as my GPM aluminum upgrades arrive my CC01 will be back in action and stronger than ever and I still want to see what that white course had in store for me some weekend soon...
