Safari Bridge

You seriously need to find a large gorilla to place in a large bamboo cage somewhere there in that section.
Looks like a perfect scene for a safari to capture KING KONG!
The sand is a perfect compliment to the rocks.
That is a sweet looking set-up"thumbsup"

It is all starting to come together very nice!

Thanks, yes the details will be what make or break this project. Here are some updates:

My daughter says that tiger must had belonged to the boys. lol.

Notice I made a fire ring too. we'll need a fire truck next time in case the bridge catchs.

There is a lot of lashing in there. No wonder you had to order that special Japanese rope. It was subliminal messages that made you make the purchase wasn't it? lol

who me? Actually, the lashing is jewelery hemp cord. as of right now, I have 1200' in it and I'm about ready to do something different.

you do a lift using the winch ,a couple of cotton reels for the line to run round 1 in front of the truck and 1 at the top and then something to hook on to that would be cool i could post a scetch if you'd like its a bit easier then lol :)

scetch would be helpful. I'm having a hard time picturing it.

That is awesome man!! I'm a pretty OCD, but ya got me beat!!!!!

Thanks, ADD is my diagnosis of choice.

I have come to an impass though. I'm waiting for some scale rope I ordered from the model ship supply store.

So what to do while waiting? shift to one of many unfinished projects which is how I got started on this bridge in the first place. The Adirondack shelter must be finished! N00b's house has motivated me to continue my scale structure quest. Dollhouses for boys forever!!!

That is the most awesome home crawl course yet! Your bamboo bridges are the chit and you even have a little camp fire ring out there.....w0w...wish I had a setup like that! 8)"thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

Yes, me too.

Campfire ring? Where?

I see a quality built 1:10 scale Volcano !!! :lmao:"thumbsup"

Thanks Natedog. I have had the hardest time finding 3-4 mm scale rope for the suspension part of the bridge. I ordered some 2.5 mm ship rigging line & long story but I ended up wasting 6 weeks dealing with a lame-O & in the end had to dispute the PayPal payment to get my money back. All over a $20 order of miniature rope.

On the brite side, waiting for the rope allowed me to finish my shelter.

But I hope to get this thing set up & finished soon. I have to figure out how the various sectioins are going to connect & then do the suspension part.

OMG! A Volcano! briliant idea... I could use a pile of rocks covered with window screen & then morter over the top.... and then some sort of system for spewage of hot lava & what to use for lava? (you think I'm kidding... I like that idea)

I actually meant if you stacked your rocks different in you campfire it would look like a volcano.... More so when you were not using it, but a flaming volcano when in use.

But if you are just looking for a scale volcano... Build it just as you described, leave a pocket at the top about the size of 20 oz.- 30 oz. container and when you want to "activate" your volcano.... You fill the container about 2/3 full of baking soda and then add the other 1/3 or so of Vinegar. If you put several drops of red food coloring in the vinegar first..... Your spewing active lava will be red. Will make you a pretty cool video:ror:"thumbsup"

I finally got some cord I was happy with to start the verticle suspension lines. Really wish I could have found something better. There is a thing called "rope walk" for making scale rope but... I really sort of wanted to finish this before it gets to warm out... so I ended up with some waxed cotten bead cord.

You have some serious skills! That looks like a fun wheelin spot!

Thanks, I appreciate the comments.

Suspension addition looks great! How many hours do you have into the bridge? The detail is exquisite"thumbsup"

Thanks, I really havn't kept up with the time (or the cost!), I've been working on it since Christmas maybe, but I typically have 4 or 5 projects going at once & I easily get diverted from one to another. I am on my 4th roll of 400' bead cord which is what I did all the small lashing with. 4 or 5 bottles of 2oz CA.

Trying to finish this up. I added some signs & had gotten the Marlin for another build & couldn't resist mounting it above the sign:
