Score Kit Front Diff Problems

Hey guys,

Recently took my Yeti kit from 2S to 3S and it only took a couple batteries before something broke. Truck was stuck in 3-wheel drive because the right front diff joint popped out. The e-clip holding it in somehow bent and fell off. I bent it back and put it back in, ran it again and it fell out again:lmao:

Before I buy some new e-clips, should I upgrade further? Yetis are supposedly strong enough for 3S. The kit's stock dogbones and diff joints seem basically new save for some rust. Where could I find a replacement front diff joint set?

Those E-clips are inside of the diff correct? its been a while since I've torn mine down but the manual seems to show them inside the diff.

My guess is you may have something wrong in the diff thats forcing this clip loose or thats its been bent too many time to hold its shape anymore.

My experience with the front diff gears are that they didnt hold up long to 2S, they were the stock cast or sintered gears. Their hardened steel gears are much more durable.

Amain and RPP has parts
Not sure which end you need

Yeah the e-clip that fell out was the one holding the inner output shaft inside the diff. It definitely is too bent to stay on, but I was wondering if anything else could've caused it to fall out. The outer shafts are fine, and the inner shafts you linked are of a different shape than mine; could be the RTR design or the ones that go with the stock diff gears? Not sure if the kit version has upgraded diff gears.

You're right that doesn't match up with what it should look like.

The part number in the manual is ax30381 (Exo heavy duty differential output shaft) and this part is different than what I linked. I looks like its available some places but I wont be linking to them since they from places I dont typically use.

My Yeti uses the same design than yours, i think the linked ones are for the front locker setup https://www.amainhobbies.com/axial-front-differential-locker-axi31182/p413863 or the RTR.

I still use the org. ones that came with the kit AX30381 EXO Heavy Duty Differential Output Axial Racing - EXO Heavy Duty Differential Output Shaft (2pcs)

The kit has HD gears instead the castmetal ones. Kit version: https://www.amainhobbies.com/axial-heavy-duty-bevel-gear-set-38-13-axi30395/p22052

No idea why your e-clip got loose/bend :???: did you use the o-rings AXA1162, maybe check with the kit manual the assembly it's on page 11.

Yeah I used the right o-rings and the right e-clips. My kit has those HD gears up front as well as the joints I linked in my last post.

If your diff output got a good smack from a rock, or branch it could have damaged that tiny c-clip. Or it could have happened during assembly. I've damaged more than a few of these little bastards or shot them across the garage floor.

Forgot to take any pics but my new e-clips came in and I rebuilt the diff again, took it out for a short run and everything felt nice and tight, at least for now. Thanks for the help guys"thumbsup"

So you are otherwise running on 3S no problem? I just got Hobbywing XR8 SCT with 3660SD G2 3600kv motor I plan on running 3S
