scx-10 + 1/8 scale brushless motor = happy with pics

After burning up my 3rd brushed motor on long trails in a weekend i starded looking at brushless motors. And after much reading i found that most 1/10 scale brushless crawling systems were unreliable on 3s and 1/10 scale race systems dident pack the punch i need to push around my 11lbs pig cherokee i though there was no hope . So while rumaging threw some motor combos at the lhs i saw an rx8 combo and asked about . I was told its 6s stable and will make an e-revo do 80+ mph . Well well here we go i though. And holy crap gobs and gobs of torqe at any speed and smooth as butter and after a 3hr run the motor was barly warm i think ever budy should run 1/8 scale motors 8)

Its a 1900kv t8 and yes at 50% power i blow up and i meen blow up a r2 trany now its cut back to 35% but the low speed torqe just dont quit great wheel speed and im getting 4hr run times out of a 2200ma 3s battery

This is a waste of time. like putting a a lift kit and big tires on a chevette

Well the guy with the lifted chevell doesent thank so and almost everyone who sees it crawl started thinking about runing 1/8 scale motor besides the only reason its turned down so much is i dont need 8million rpm :flipoff:

I guess I have to ask why your righ weighs 11 lbs?

If you are burning up brushed motors left and right going slow there has to be another problem. It will be short lived until the RX8 completely chews through your drivetrain. A motor meant to push an 8th scale around a track at high speeds (and no way is an 1800kv motor is going to push a revo 80 mph on 6s much less a 2200kv one, I have a lot of experience in this arena) will chew the drivetrain of an SCX to shreds.

Seriously, this is like putting a V10 from the viper in a neon.

Ok mabe it wont make an e-revo go 80mph thats just what i was told but thats not the point and well it just works . And as for your second question its not so much the weight but the driving where i go crawling theres long trails that we walk so theres lot of high rpm driving and long hill climbing it just cooks brushed motor And mabe its like a v10 in a neon even so do you drive your car with the gas pedal pined to the floor all the time

im just saying the torqe is smooth and constant and i have all the wheel speed i want i have a longer run time with a smaller battery then the people i crawl with it really has made a big improvment with my rig and i just want to share that besides iv seen scx-10s
running colbalt pullers on 3s

I bet that combo works great. I have been meaning to try something similar "thumbsup"

Maybe you could put a body off pic so we can see how well everything fits? I've been thinking about getting a 1/8 system to power a tank project, it'd be nice to be able to fit it in a crawler as well.

this is my setup
