SCX 10 II RTR - Newbie concerns

Hello all, I recieved my SCX 10 II RTR Cherokee today and ran it for a bit around the house and everything seems to work as expected, but I have a concern about a clicking noise I am hearing.

In the attached imgur album I have a video and picture, the clicking noise seems to be coming from the drive shafts and I noticed a bit of wear on the collar (circled in red) that seems to coincide with the clicking noise. The noise happens when the shaft turns and that wear spot hits. I took off spur gear cover (I believe thats what it is called) to see if I could just sand it down a bit but it looks like the wear is coming from the plate the gears are mounted on.

I am a bit bummed out as I wasn't expecting issues my first day having the vehicle. Is this something I need to readily be concerned about/should I contact Axial support?

You could try to file down a bit the drive shaft cap?

No need to contact Axial. run the screw/pin a bit further. That should rectify the issue.

Go ahead and call/email tech support. It looks like you got a bad driveshaft. Quality Control should've caught that. They should send you a new one. Do you have a Hex driver or Allen wrench that fits? If not, maybe ask if they'll send you a cheap Allen wrench to make the swap.

Thank you for the replies guys, I will pick up an allen wrench tomorrow and see if I can tighten the screw down and see if that fixes it and I will contact axial to make them aware of the issue.

There really isn't any issue. They build so many RTR's that yours slipped through quality control. All it is a pin protruding .5mm. Easy fix with very minimal damage.

Yeah like everyone else said, the pin must have slipped causing the damage. A little blue locktite on the pin and rethread it. Sometimes they don’t tighten the screws fully.
