I put a set of the Kentic Double Barrel shocks. Put them on th Jeep that is stock except for a Emax servo and high clearance links. The have a lot of flex but them weren't collapsing like they should. You sit it down and the shocks would hold it up. Thought it might have something to do with the high clearance links. So I put them on the stock B17 Betty They did the samething. I did get them to settle some by loosing up the screws that hold the links but it still does't sit right unless you drop it. It drives fairly well it sure yet if it's that much better, need more time with it.

Been looking into these but not a fan of lifting the COG or the look but I hear they work great once tuned.

When they collapse right they are real close to the stock height. Guess I need to do some research on how to tune them. I have the VLP (very low pressure) springs didn't care for the LP ones.

Could a internal spring under the piston be used to help the shock collapse?

Something about the way they behave doesn’t seem right. Compare how they behaved on the ledge to the top of the fridge; the double barrels looked like they completely unloaded the front axle, almost tipping over backwards.

I can see that they have more articulation, but they look like they’re over-sprung. Do the springs stay seated at full droop?

I have these and was running the HR soft springs with them. They sit at normal ride height, but obviously go to full droop. I use the pre-load ring on the shocks (aluminum shocks) to fine tune ride height.

I just received the VLP shocks (mine were a bit misshapen in shipping), so I have just fitted them. They do not say seated without a bit of preload on the collars. And they do still hold the truck lifted as stated by the op. I haven't run it yet to see to really test the VLP.

I will say I really like running with the HR soft (black) springs + HR alum shocks + KDBS. I do have quite a bit of axle/wheel weight.
