Sensored brushless wiring tips?

I'm switching to sensored brushles setup in m Losi.
I have a 21.5T Trinity Duo 2, and I am waiting for my MM Pro to show up this morning.
I can already see thet the wiring is going to be different from the brushed motors. The sensor cable was a no brainer, it is tabbed so it can only be installed 1 way.
The motor tabs are a different story. How are most people attaching the wires to the motor tabs? Do they just solder them very carefullyoe is there another option?
I see the holes in each tab, is there a connector that will allow you to use a screw to attach it to the motor tab once you have soldered the esc wire to said connector?
Any other tips?

I'm not familiar with that Trinity motor so I dont know what kind of terminals are on the wires, but I know that the MM pro has bullet connectors on its wire. (4mm bullet conectors I think.)

So the MM Pro will have 3 leads with bullet connectors pre-installed?
I suppose I could solder some leads with 4mm female bullets on the motor.

What is the purpose of 3 wires on the brushless motors instead of 2 wires on brushed? They need it to replace the connection made by brushes? What are thier designations? Pos, neg, and ground?

I'm running the motor backwards in my Losi, in order to bias the weight balance forward. Can I just swap leads neg to pos, viceversa in order to correct the rotation? Or does it need to be done through the castle link?

Your best bet would to be to solder wires with bullet connectors on the motor.

There is no set + or - on brushless motors. Just connect all the wires to the speed control and if it doesn't spin the way you want it to, swap two of the wires around and it will.

Brushless motors are three phase, if it spins backwards you need to reverse the direction in the programming.

Hey Duuuuuuuude, looks like it's you mang.
From their instructions that I had to download since my sh*t didn't show up again today:

After the calibration process below, it may be necessary to swap two of the three
motor wires to provide the correct motor rotation when forward throttle is given.
There is no polarity on the three ESC-to-motor wires, so no worries about which
one from the ESC goes to which one on the motor.

Sounds like I need to solder male bullet connectors instaed of females.

Always. Any connection that supplies power will usually be female so that the actual connection is covered at all times.

With my mmp the motor and esc ha an a b c lable on each sodder the matching letters. I solderd the wire directly to the motor kinda like a deans plug.

So, am I right about the length of the power leads not being critical in a sensored brushless motor? The MM Pro manual warns against possible problems but doesn't specify if it is talking about sensored or not at that point.
Also, Zimm, which leads are what colors, red white, black, A, B, C? I'm trying to get evrything done so it's plug and play when it gets here Monday.

I wouldn't make them any longer than needed, but long enough to work with. 3" should be plenty.

The labeling doesn't matter...solder some wires on the motor, add the bullet plugs and you're good to go. "thumbsup"

If you solder the esc directly to the motor, you'll have to remove them as a pair should one or the other need to come out of the rig. Personally I prefer not having to tear my rig down any more than I have to when I work on it.

A is red b is white and c is black. I think youre motor should be labled too. From my knowldge of the airplane world it is better to lengthen the motor wires but I have added to the battery side w/o problems.

I'm with you man. No more teardown than absolutely needed. Bullets will be there for sure.
I just wanted to know the colors so I could be all clean looking color matched and stuff.:mrgreen:
I'm gonna use 2 black wires and one red wire. One of the black wires will get white shrinkwrap down the entire length. I'll just go ahead and solder them to the motor, then wait to see which one gets the white when I test."thumbsup"
