Servo Pro vs Updated DS3218?

One is slightly less garbage. What are you using it for?
The 3218Pro is a great servo for a trail truck, rtr replacement, if you want to do any thing comp related spend the money on a good servo, I actually haven't had any of the Pros die on me yet in my trail trucks, I don't comp but do have a couple rigs I crawl pretty hard with and I use better quality servos in those. I buy the Pros on Amazon, get them way quicker.

Deciding on what servos to buy based on price is a terrible idea. The 35kg servo is as low of a servo I'm willing to run. It at least has stainless gears and not butter soft brass like is so common with low price junk.
hay the pro has stainless sheel gears im not sure what sheel is but its stainless i wonder if thats anything like cnc-ed chinesium
I think that's a lesson a lot of us have learned the hard way.
I'm planning out a budget MoA build with a danchee ridgerock. I haven't tried a MoA so it is a potential entryway before trying something nicer like a bully 2.

Not once in my 35 years in rc have I ever regretted buying a good servo. I've regretted trying to save a few bucks a few times for sure.
I'd spend money on a decent servo and if you find moa isn't for you then you can always put that servo on another rig. Weak servos always make me hate them. :ror:

Based on that, I may run stock for a few weeks, and if I'm liking MoA, Ill pickup quality servos that can also be used on a Bully 2.
I'm new to the sport as of this year, so it's hard for me to mentally justify spending more on servos that the (cheap) RTR just yet.

When I started I would upgrade to “slightly” better electronics eventually. I have a cheap DS servo in one of my boys TRX4 Sports. It works just fine and he puts it through far more abuse than I do. After 3 rtr crawlers my next 7 were kits and as I progressed I got higher end electronics. There’s absolutely an advantage to a higher quality servo (Holmes, AGF, etc), but upgrade as you see fit and your budget allows. Most of us who have been doing this a while will recommend higher end electronics because we’ve been there, done that, but starting conservatively and modifying, upgrading as you go also helps you learn what suits your needs. Enjoy the hobby! It’s very rewarding.
