Shims for Maxx axle stubs?

Are shims available that will fit the T/E Maxx stub axles to minimize slop when using Pro-Line Cheyennes with 23 mm adapters? The axle pin slots in the 23mm adapters are not nearly as deep as those in the stock hexes and this results in almost a 2mm gap between back of the 23mm adapter and the outer bearing in the knuckle. This is where the slop is coming from and using shims in this space would greatly reduce or hopefully elimimate the slop. Unfortunately my LHS has no shims of any kind and has been of no help with this.
