Well while desperately anticipating John to restock on BRXL's I think I'm just going to get my rig moving for now.

I read on the previous thread here on 4S setups before it got tanked on that someone was using a Sidewinder on 4S.

Do I have to do anything different to the ESC settings if I run 4S on it?

Currently it just has drag brake set and 3.0V/cell cut off.

Thanks!

Oh yeah forget to mention I have a CC BEC set at 6V too. But is 4S okay or do I need to watch for a dip in power?

Everything I have read says that 4S is ok. Go for it.
I will do the same with my scaler.

On newer versions of castlelink (not sure when they started) the cutoff has 4s settings, just make sure the lights flash four times the first time you plug a pack in or check it on castlelink first. My 2.2 scaler and XR-10 are both about to get it, 55t's and dual sidewinders in the XR should be plenty safe. The 35T in the scaler I'll have to check for heat, esp. since it's all covered in plasti-dip but the heatsink.

Oh hmmm...I didn't know the new release for Castlelink had a 4S cut off. What would I set the Lipo cut off value to?

It will auto detect for whatever you have it to now if you have auto turned on, which you should so you can still run 3s packs. The 4s cutoff has been there for a while, the last several have it.

Thanks I double checked to make sure my Auto Detect was on and did notice there was a 4S option. I left the LVC at 3.0V.

Ran my heavy TTC rig yesterday on 3S and definitely need 4S power. The rig tops out at around 14-15 pounds lol.

I think you are puting too much thought into this. Just set your cutoff to 3.0 volts per cell...and run 4S. It works fine. I did that all weekend.

I personally like to run the cutoff at around 3.3 volts per cell to extend batt life but as stated, you can just set it to Auto and go with it. "thumbsup"

Out of the box, the sidewinder comes at 3.0 volts per cell. Mine arrived already loaded with 1.24 firmware. I did not have to change a thing.
As for Lipo cutoff voltage, to me it makes no difference. My batteries are cheap, and I get them for a dime a dozen.

Okay for some reason my Sidewinder won't calibrate on 4S. It's set on Auto Detect and it does beep 4 times (indicating 4S), but after that it is a continuous beep every second.

I have no throttle or reverse and all three lights on the ESC are flashing continuously.

Weird I looked around Castle's site and also Google but cannot find the 1.24 firmware.

Where can I find this?

Never mind...found it in the software tab!

Awesome runs perfect on 4s!!
