I remember reading in a thread about scrubbing you tires with simple green. What are the words of wisdom on that if any? :)
If this needs to be in the Tires section go for it.

Yea, Dont rinse.

Use it racing 1/10 scale off road. Heres my steps.

#1. Dismantle Rim & Tire and remove foam from tire.

#2.Clean tire initially with what ever you choose, usually simple green, rinse - let dry.

#3. Take simple green (make sure it's concentrate, not diluted) spray tire until its soaked with simple green. Work it into the tire with a tooth brush or whatever until it foams. Get the whole tread foamy all the way around, set in sun and let dry. DO NOT RINSE.

#4. Blow dust out of foams

#5. Remount.

It works!

I get my crawler very dirty before comps, but I do simple green my tires the night before each comp. First step I spray simple green on each tire. Second step I use a toothbrush or my fingers to rub the tires so that I can get the dirt off really good. Third Step I rinse the tires with clean water. After they dry the tires are very sticky, and they come out looking new again."thumbsup"

Wow, talk about timing, I have a comp on Saturday and we thinking about getting new tires because my Losi Claws have gotten slick (~ 3 months old), even though they still have a good amount of tread on them. For those running these tires, how long are you stretching the crawling life of the tires using Simple Green?

I know Ace Hardware and Kroger here carries it. I don't think Wally world does, and I'm not sure where else, but it's a fairly common cleaner.

Simple Green

Simple Green can be found at Wal-Mart and Auto Stores. It works great without having to deal with harsh chemicals. If you choose to rinse off the simple green or just let it dry on the tires its worth buying a bottle."thumbsup"

My wife just picked me up some at Wally World tonight so I can clean the oil out of the bed of my truck. I might have to hit my tires too for the Krawler.

Were not using it to get the oils off. Were using it to soften the rubber to increase traction "thumbsup"

I'll have to look harder next time I'm in there. I was thinking they just about had to have it, but I never could find any.

There is also a Simple Green foaming spray. I found it at Fastenal one day. It works pretty decent, but for some reason I swear it's not the same as the normal liquid Simple Green.. If my tires are really caked with dirt or mud, I'll spray the foam on them several times and just leave it till most of the mud runs off. Then I'll go back with a toothbrush and give 'em a good scrubbing, then spray with the liquid Simple Green and leave them to dry. I never rinse mine with water. "thumbsup"

Simple green brought back to life a old worn set of claws (my first set of 2.2 tires bought in May of 08 ) last night. I was like wow. :ror:
