iv head of on road racers soaking there rubber tires in simple green to soften em, anyone else heard of this?

strait simple green?or diluted

we just use it to clean our tires and it makes em sticky, we dilute it. also have heard of people using mineral spirits to make em sticky

I'd be careful soaking beadlock tires. I saw on here someone soaking in WD-40 and the tire swelling and then not seating in the rim.

I've used a 50/50 solution of Simple Green and water for a couple years now and it works very well for me. I found that full strength leaves them too tacky and also adheres the tires to beadlock rings very strongly after they've been mounted for a while.

Here's what I do for new tires and any that need a good cleaning or wake up:

Spray all surfaces liberally with the 50/50 mix
Scrub entire surface of each with a medium stiff bristle brush
Let them soak for about 5 minutes
Rinse thoroughly with warm water
Air dry
Insert your choice of foams
Bolt up "thumbsup"
