can any one tell me where to find single sub c batteries for sale. I checked cheapbattery packs but they didn't have what i wanted.

any other sites to look at?

i am looking for 5000mah or higher (if they even make them) sub c size single cells to make an 8 cell pack for my scaler.

thanks

5000 mah cells are not worth it IMO, and they are usually not true rated. If they are low resistance they don't last long before wearing out. If they are high resistance they just don't have punch or voltage under load (venom) and they still wear out fast. I still feel that 3600 is all that a sub C should have inside, but if you really want runtime the elite 4500's are the most stable, highest capacity, high discharge rate nimh available in the states right now.

X2 I have noticed over the last few years that the higher that they go in mah, the worse the batteries get......even from some of the best battery companies. :x

I still like my 3300's the best."thumbsup"

thats what i am running know. i do like it, i get about 45 -50 min runtime. but i can't change my battery very easily in my scaler. i kinda have to charge it in the truck and was wanting as much run time as i could get on a charge.

don't really want to go lipo either.

I know you said that you did not want to go Lipo but teh trinitry 4500mah Li PRO packs would work pretty slick in a scaler. Has the LVC build into the pack. I usally run out of free time befor I run out of charge.

If your after long run time why not go with a big lipo?

He has a very nice MaxAmps pack now. His big concern with the lipo was that this is a scaler, running an ESC not rated for lipos, and the fact that he plays U-Boat Commander with that scaler and didn't want to try and fit a water proof box in for the lipo. Also, for his set-up, the ablitity to place the much more compact Sub-C cells was a big selling point.

I notice exact same thing about the capacity. 3600's are real good and many capacities over that do not have the true capacity. I have kept a lot of the gp 3300's. ;-)
