I killed Slyther!
It was probably the worst thing I've ever seen!!!
I got Slyther all fixed up on Friday night with some new parts that I'd been waiting for. I took the family out to Castle Wood Canyon to scout out some courses. While on lookers watched in amazement, I was traversing a climb that was at least 200 feet high, super steep and had ledges that dropped off into canyons! I thought the Moabs were invinceable but I was wrong. Slyther made a valliant attempt but ultimately failed. It fell off a cliff.....litterally! Then it tumbled at least 100 feet! It's in a million pieces, the V2 is destroyed, the links are bent, snapped stub axles, killed axle tubes and wheel knuckles, broke shocks, etc.
Check out the pics!!!
Also....check out the Wanted Section!!!!!........Seriously! :|

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I can put on the website "cliff tested". Actually it looks like the whole thing fair pretty well considering what happend. And the v2 looks repairable just some new top rails? (can't tell from the pics)

Now Wannabe... they are rock crawlers not cliff divers. :)

The Slyther will be missed.

Damn; I might have to lose my Carnage King crown!!!

Strong work!

BTW; Use your star :-P Pics load way faster and imageshack blows goats.

Dang, and that was such a nice piece of work. I think I am going to be sick!!! Where is Castle Wood Canyon? I wanna try it.

i rolled my vmg off a 10 foot ledge in to a river this weekend
luckly it washed back on shore a little ways down. ruined all the electroncs. sand got in the motors and crap.

when ever im on a cliff from now on im going to tie a rope on to my crawlers so i dont loose anoter truck :|

The good news is that the electronics all still work, cept for stripped servo gears. I have been hard at work on the new "Stream Liner" chasis for a clod....although, I may get the new V2 Prime as well for my 2nd clod.
I was really sickened when I trashed my clod.....but it just forces me to go into creative mode to make new stuff.
It was the worst RC accident I have ever seen!

Wow Dirk, you've outdone yourself. So maybe we'll have to change the homepage?

I'll prolly try and use the same body. Surprisingly, it held up better than the aluminum but there are some huge tears and cracks and the roof is caved in. I'll have to just cut more off the body I guess.

The V2 did fair very well. All in all, only the upper rails have major damage. I thought I would be able to bend them back but they actually stretched, then tore....so you can't push the aluminum back together because in the area that they tore, got longer. I would have to grind out some material to bend them back. I'll prolly just buy new top rails and put it back together. If you guys could see the cliff it fell off of, you'd all be surprised that there is anything left at all.

Sorry to see that man. I'm sure you will pull something else out of your box of tricks. Can't wait to see the next one.
