A guy at work was cleaning out his office and gave me an old catalog for smallparts.com. I thumbed through it and was wondering if anyone has used them before. They seem to have a few unique items, I found some gas filled shocks in the catalog that looked like they could work for something.

They do have nice small parts like delrin rod and all thread. My only problem with them was I made an order of delrin plate and rod and it didnt tell me the rod was on back order until I recieved the plate in the mail. Then they wanted to charge me for shipping again once the rod was in stock. I understand them wanting to charge shipping since most online retailers do but no where did it say I placed an order with back ordered parts. I ended up canceling the rod, which they were nice about, and ordering the rod for McMaster with some other things I needed anyways.

They do have good prices. Which is why I ordered the delrin from them in the first place. I am not try to say all their business is bad. I probably should have called to make sure everything was in stock before paying for it.

I thought everyone here already knew about them . We've had their catalogs here at work for a long time. I was going to buy some 1/4" 6061 rod from them, but went with onlinemetals.com instead........much cheaper. Their delivery was very fast, and their packaging can't be beat. Another site that may interest people here is wmberg.com.

I have not been here but a guy at work also recommended this place as a good window shop for ideas when looking for unique solutions. Apparently they have so much variety when I called looking for something specific they said I would have better luck just coming and browsing for something that would work. I ended up just ordering the stuff and have not had another excuse to make it over there yet.
