So what's with HPI?

*sigh* Tis true. HPI just ain't what they used to be. I do love my WR8's though, and my Vorza and my Baja... oh and my original Nitro RS4. Unfortunately, the new RS4 isn't very good and is the first RC car that I've ever had to return as defective. They (Hobbico/Tower) took great care of me though so they've got my support until the end. I really hope the Venture does well but that depends on them. Supply and support, HPI... supply and support. And hop ups, dangit!

I've been wondering what was going on with HPI over the last year or so, getting any kind of parts has been a pain, everything is always on back order.

Anyone got any new info on what's up with HPI. Looks like more drivers are leaving, and still no news about a release date of the Venture. That they announced just before Christmas.

Is it so that the Maverick brand is not available in US? I'm from Europe. If so I can not understand why not. They are budget friendly trucks that seems to sell ok over here.

Their "source" is Harley, he's been posting this on his facebook account. My guess is he's planning another April fools' joke. :lmao:

No, it was actually posted by LiveRC first. It's not a hoax. We just don't know how much of HPI they purchased, and what their intentions are. Listening to the live broadcast of a big race going on over in England right now and the announcers have said that the full news will be released in the coming weeks.

Are you referring to the post he made with the "confirmed" tag on it, or the first one he posted. My understanding is that he made the first post, then Live rc put it on their site as a "rumor", then Harley posted the "confirmed" follow-up citing the article from live rc.

remember, last year on march 25th was the rumor that Thunder Tiger bought traxxas and hpi, the same day that the rumor started this year.

Harley also referenced his troll of putting the Traxxas brand on venture and sending it out. iirc, that was the day before Venture linked their page to traxxas, then axial, then hpi.

IF, he really did pull this off it will be a trolling of epic proportions :lmao: I assume there is some news regarding HPI, but I don't think this rumor is correct.

I bought a HPI Bronco body awhile back just in case something happened. It's probably the most OG body still in production.
