spacers on the shocks?

Those are preload spacers. The larger/more you go, the stiffer to spring rate is.

The best course of action when just starting out is to go on the stiff side and install the two largest pre-load spacer sets 4mm (1 on each of the rear shocks) and 3mm (1 on each front shock). These should be installed in between the upper spring retainer and the shock cap. As you define your driving style you may want more spring tension (add more pre-load spacers) or less (replace with thinner spacers). To increase articulation for rock climbing and traction for racing on flatter ground, you may even want to go with softer springs. Spring rates are defined by lbs. so the less lb. rating the softer the spring. Unless you are simply using the Pre-load spacers to adjust the ride height, the pre-load spacers are designed to fine tune the response of the springs by putting extra load on them. So if you find that you generally use a lot of preload spacers, you may want to upgrade to stiffer springs or vise versa.

The OP asked "anyone mess with them at all?"

I would have to answer "On a daily baisis" - at least until I get my suspension perfect - hahahaha!!!

I took mine out and ended up losing a lower spring perch because during some point of the axle's articulation the spring became completely unloaded and the lower perch just fell off. Right now I just keep the larger spacers in and they're working pretty well right now.

I lost a lower perch the same way - then I put a dab of black Goop in the slots on the perches and now they can't just fall off!!

New here and just got a WK. I also lost a spring perch playin around. Are these readily available?? I don't know too much about this yet. Thanks, Chris
