I’m looking for paint to use on the X-Citer bodies on my Losi crawlers and am planning a basic panel paint job for them using metallic and/or Candy red, silver or pearl white, then metallic black and may flip the red and black as the main color, depending on the truck it goes on. I’ve been looking at the Spaz Stix sprays and was wondering if their paint prep product is needed to use it on lexan as well as if I can use Pactra lacquers I’m more familiar with over it if I want?

I bought it ....... once. Takes forever to dry, I will stick with dawn and water. Spaz Silver is a great backer, nice flake and coverage. Can’t say with Pactra, but it plays well with Tamiya and duratrax.

Thanks Mike, looks like it may be an adheasion promoter like the Duplicolor one I use when I put their bed liner directly to lexan. Also appears as though my colors of choice from them is now out of stock now too:roll:

I don’t think it’s like adherto. It’s basically just a spray degreaser and silicone cleaner.... mold release agents sometimes are left on the lexan.

Finish Pro - Pre-Clean Pre-Paint Solvent, Quart

Bought it from a local auto paint and body supply store, works good but will clean the grease and oils from your hands if you don’t glove up too:ror:

Have you ever used that solvent on lexan before? It may cloud it and ruin your paint job before you even start. I'm skeptical of any product that uses the word "solvent". It usually means it has acetone or some other paint removing chemical in it.

I did yesterday as well as a few weeks ago in my Clod and Lunchbox Black edition bodies without an issue, it’s Isopropyl Alcohol, Xylene, and “Light Hydrotreated Distillate”.........it also smells a lot like the E85 I run in my 200:ror:

All “solvent “base means is grease cutting, unless labeled with wax removal, then it cuts silicone.

Always test anything you’re not familiar with.
