Spring rates and oil weight

What’s everyone using for springs and oil weight on stock smt10 shocks? I did some reading on calculating spring rates for 1:1 cars and trucks and with rough estimates it seems the stocks are way to stiff for the amount of sprung weight. I converted everything to ounces just to make things a little easier. But this what I got. The color indicates axial spring color and what the rate is. Keep in mind this is for axle mounted shocks as there is a lot more math involved for the stock location.

12.62oz sprung weight per shock

Black 14.56 oz/in 15.37%
Purple 16.16 oz/in. 28.05%
Orange 18.24 oz/in. 44.5%
Red 21.12 oz/in. 67.35%
Green 36 oz/in. 185%
Yellow 44.48 oz/in. 252.45%
Blue 48.16 oz/in. 281.61%

The stock truck comes with 2 different spring rates for front and back. The rear is pretty soft but could be a bit softer and used on all 4 shocks. Also the stock shock piston is a 3 hole where a 5 hole would work much better. changing the stock 30wt oil to 20 or 15 would also help a lot. Not sure what tires you are running but there is different tire foam options also.Check out Crawler INnovations. I cant speak for any of these changes personally as i am currently waiting on my parts to show up so i can try these myself.

Very good info above,i am new to the SMT10 so will try that.
I asked a while ago and only really got a opinion of the SMT10 needing thicker oil,in the 40-50 sct area.

Not sure if your on Instagram but the RC SMT10 community is super helpful and willing to help. Everything i have read and heard from people is soft springs, 5 hole pistons and 15 - 20 weight oil. Keep in mind this is for axle mounted shocks and reasonable jumps, not ridiculous jumps. lol
