I've been pondering the best/easiest/least time consuming way to make a steering wheel for a rig I'm working on.

It was either on here or on Scale 4x4 where someone posted that they used a key ring and a servo horn to make a steering wheel.

I thought it was a cool idea, but I didn't have any key rings here that I thought would look right.

So there I sat...sitting at the bench, trying to figure out what I should use.

The answer was right in front of me the whole time...literally.

About ten minutes later the epoxy was curing. "thumbsup"

a little black plastic dip on the metal and some chrome paint on the servo horn . it will look Killer Jason ! "thumbsup"

like I posted at the scale4x4 forums... you can also use an O-ring for the hoop and trace the servo horn onto a piece of aluminum, cut it out and polish it...

i used an o-ring, some brazing rod, ballpoint pen tube, little styrene, tlt shock o-ring, and glue and i will plastidip the ends of the rods for the ends and taa-daa! steering wheel. its a picture of the wiper but you can kind of tell.

That was way more time and work than I wanted to put into the wheel.

It didn't take but a couple of minutes to braze it solid and hit it with the sandpaper to clean it up.

Obijuan, that column is nice, but my rig won't need levers on the column. :)
