Ive had my SCX10 since Christmas and have refilled the shocks twice because the oil leaks out. I DO NOT HAVE MONEY FOR NEW SHOCKS AT THIS TIME. (Im not trying to be a jerk but I just want to make that clear before everyone tells me to buy some Powerstrokes).
Does anyone have any tricks to keep the stock shock from leaking so much. Thanks for your input."thumbsup"

Is it leaking out the bottom around the shaft or at the top around the threads?

Sorry, forgot to say that.....Its leaking around the bottom. Ive tightened the caps and it seems to be leaking around the shaft.

alright. take your shocks apart. take the orings out of the cap. fill the cap with a THICK grease. then put orings and washer back in cap. top it back off with grease since some will ooze out. don't be afraid the grease will ooze a bit but easy to clean off shock body I used lucas oil red n tacky #2 in my axles so used it in my shocks since a huge tube is like 4 bucks or less at auto store.
then reassemble the shocks filling and bleeding the shock oil as normal.
you just need something thicker than the shock oil in the cap to help keep it from seeping.
red n tacky, marine grease or any bearing axle grease will work. also o rings are super cheap so pick up some new ones if you want and throw em in.

fill this cap with grease and then put orings and washer back in.
you are putting them in the cap in this order aren't you. oring-washer-oring

Do you put the Oring back in or leave it out?
Question answered....

I havent pulled the shocks that far apart yet. My SCX10 started life as an RTR so obviously the shocks were already assembled.

ALWAYS put o-rings back in. they hold the oil from leaking out

disco, can you elaborate what the washer is for between the o-rings?

mine's been leaking too and now i put the washer - o-ring - o-ring order, just to see what it'll do. i havent run it again after rebuilding

i'll try your suggestion with the grease, sounds like a great idea "thumbsup"

i used the grease method as well and it works fairly good. I had to refill one shock lastnight, and i rebuilt them about 4 monthes ago, and i run it atleast 3 times a week

I can handle a rebuild once every 4 months so. I cleaned and reoiled my shocks 2 weeks ago and everything leaked out already. That was my whole reason for starting this post. I clean and refilled them last night and I'll see how they work.

Thanks again for everyones tips
